Tuweep, Grand Canyon
PreviousToroweap Point - view eastNext

The overlook at Tuweep (or Toroweap) provides one of the most famous views of the Grand Canyon, looking straight down to the river, and upstream along a gently curving section of the gorge, framed by near vertical cliffs. Not many people come here, however, as to reach this region, "one of the most remote in the US" according to the NPS, needs a drive of at least 65 miles over unpaved roads, across completely uninhabited land. The last few miles are rough and may require a 4WD vehicle.
