Monday 18 July 1994: Woke early since there was a lot to do. Put unfinished food in the bin, and a half empty bottle of Schnapps next to it. Half an hour later it had gone (the bottle, that is). Packed up, left and eventually located Cruise America, who had moved from the address given on our paperwork. Fortunately they decided our vehicle was OK, returned the deposit and ferried us to the airport. Total distance covered in the 26 days was 5,545 miles. Fifteen hours later, after a stop in Chicago, we were in London.

This trip was every bit as good as that which I took the previous year. In 1993 (my first visit to USA) we drove an RV from Los Angeles through many of the traditional tourist areas of California, Utah and Nevada, and I have done something similar every year since. The scenery, weather, and cost of living make the south and west of the USA the perfect place in the world for me. I hope to live there one day.
