The Staybridge Suites hotel in northwest San Antonio is built along the Loop 1604 frontage road (north side), a short walk from the Shops at La Cantera, and 2 miles from both Six Flags Fiesta Texas and the Rim retail/entertainment center. This is a new (late 2008), handsome and well equipped property offering 120 suites - one or two bed - that all contain a full kitchen. Free buffet breakfast is prepared each morning; other amenities include a convenience store, 24 hour fitness center, outdoor pool, bbq grills, business center and one meeting room. Pets are welcome, for a fee.

One of the northernmost hotels in San Antonio, the Best Western Fiesta Inn offers 60 rooms, an outdoor pool/hot tub and free deluxe continental breakfast, located on the east side of I-10 between exits 557 and 558, close to the outer ring road (TX 1604). This part of town is for the most part rural/residential though there are several other hotels and shops nearby, and a selection of restaurants. A mile northwest are University of Texas at San Antonio, and the La Cantera resort/golf course/shopping center.

The ninth Courtyard hotel to open in San Antonio is part of the expanding RIM development right at the northwest edge of the city, located along the eastern I-10 frontage road a short distance from the main shopping area. The 5 floor, 124 room hotel is a short drive from both Six Flags Fiesta and the Shops at La Cantera, and so centrally located near a huge choice of retail and leisure attractions. The usual excellent Marriott customer service is complemented by amenities of a restaurant (serving breakfast, lunch & dinner), lounge/bar, outdoor pool & whirlpool, fitness center, business center, convenience store, free wi-fi and 1,200 sq ft of meeting/event space.

The top choice for all-suite/extended stay accommodation at The RIM shopping/entertainment center is Residence Inn San Antonio Northwest, a new hotel along Rim Pass Drive beside I-10 exit 555, and right next to a Marriott sister property (the Courtyard) - both hotels opened September 2009. The 6 floor Residence Inn has 131 suites featuring separate sleeping/living/working areas and a full kitchen, though there are plenty of restaurants nearby to offer an alternative to in-room cooking, and both free full breakfast and free evening receptions (Mon-Wed) are provided by the hotel. For leisure, guests have use of a sports court, outdoor pool, hot tub and fitness center, while other amenities include a free grocery shopping service, a meeting room, business center and free internet access.

On a quiet side road at the edge of undeveloped, wooded land, Comfort Inn Fiesta Park Area is a new-looking, 124 room hotel built alongside the 1604 loop road just a few minutes walk from the Shops at La Cantera, and 2 miles from Six Flags Fiesta Texas. Rates are quite low but not at the expense of facilities and cleanliness; amenities include free deluxe continental breakfast, free internet access, an outdoor pool, newsstand, meeting space and a refrigerator/microwave in each guest room.

Guests at the newly opened Quality Inn Bandera Pointe appreciate its quiet, countryside location, the clean and spacious rooms, friendly staff and the decent range of amenities, which includes free breakfast (continental), outdoor pool, exercise room, and bbq area. All 64 rooms are equipped with microwave & refrigerator; also available are suites with an extra sofa bed and/or separate sleeping/living areas. The hotel sits on partly wooded land close to the 1604 Freeway on the west edge of San Antonio, near such sites as SeaWorld (7.5 miles) and Six Flags Fiesta Texas (5.5 miles).

Although part of a group of hotels next to I-10 (west side), towards the north edge of San Antonio approaching the 1604 Loop, the Sleep Inn is built about 0.2 miles from the freeway and so is rather quieter than some of its neighbors. The hotel is new (late 2008), and very clean and modern - rooms are spacious, comfortable, brightly decorated and equipped with features such as LCD TV, microwave, refrigerator and sofa bed. Internet access and deluxe continental breakfast are both complimentary. Leisure facilities are a pool (indoor), hot tub and exercise room, while for those here on business the hotel has a computer room, copy/fax service and a meeting room. The Six Flags Fiesta Texas theme park is 2.7 miles north.

Facilities at the Econo Lodge Fiesta Park are limited to free continental breakfast, free internet access and an outdoor pool, but this is a clean, affordable and friendly motel, situated in a semi-rural neighborhood on the east side of I-10, one mile south of the 1604 loop road, and within a few minutes drive of La Cantera, The Rim and the Six Flags Fiesta theme park. The lodge has 62 exterior corridor rooms on two storeys; some have a microwave and refrigerator. There is a good selection of restaurants and several large stores a short distance south, along De Zavala Rd.

Rodeway Inn at Six Flags is just about the northernmost hotel in the San Antonio area, and it offers basic but affordable lodging to visitors to the many nearby attractions, including Six Flags Texas and the Shops at La Cantera. The inn backs onto a wooded hill alongside interstate 10 (access is from exit 554, Camp Bullis Rd); its amenities are free continental breakfast, an outdoor pool, sun deck, newsstand and guest laundry. Some of the 74 rooms are equipped with a microwave and a refrigerator.
