Formerly a Radisson, this hotel is now the Crowne Plaza San Antonio Airport, a grand, 10 floor building on the north side of loop 410, one mile east of the international airport in a busy commercial area with various other hotels and businesses. The hotel has 224 large rooms, all equipped with a kitchenettes, plus several suites and a VIP executive level. Cilantro is the on-site restaurant/lounge, serving food until 10 pm, and the many other facilities include a convenience store, outdoor pool/whirlpool, fitness center, business center and 10 meeting rooms.

The Holiday Inn is another hotel along loop 410, 1 mile west of San Antonio International Airport and 7 miles north of the downtown area. This is an upscale, 11 floor property containing 397 comfortable rooms, all with a microwave, refrigerator and free wireless internet access. The outdoor pool is next to a terrace & patio area with tropical plants, and other leisure amenities are a health/fitness center & whirlpool. The hotel has a restaurant, cafe, and a bar open daily until 2 am.

Staybridge Suites San Antonio Airport offers 136 suites on 9 floors, located one mile west of the airport at 66 NE Loop 410, opposite the Holiday Inn Select. Various sizes and configuration of suite are available, though all share the facilities of a full kitchen with dishwasher, VCR, ironing facilities, two TVs and complimentary buffet breakfast. For outside dining there are 2 restaurants adjacent to the hotel, which also has an outdoor pool, convenience store and fitness center.

The 154 room Holiday Inn Express San Antonio Airport rises 10 storeys above the suburbs of north San Antonio, located at 91 NE Loop 410, one block west of the junction with US 281 and a mile from the airport. A complimentary shuttle is offered to the airport and other nearby areas including the North Star shopping mall. The hotel serves free continental breakfast and is within a block of a small selection of restaurants. Leisure amenities are an outdoor pool and health/fitness center.

Comfortable, spacious accommodation is on offer at the Residence Inn San Antonio Airport, an all-suite hotel on the south side of I-410, 2 miles from the international airport. The inn caters for large groups, extended stay travelers or those needing extra space and facilities, which include a full kitchen, oversized work desk, pull-out sofa bed, and separate living/sleeping areas. Free hot breakfast is served each morning, plus a free manager's reception in the evenings; for those cooking on-site the nearest food supermarket is HEB, a few blocks south along New Braunfels Ave. The hotel's leisure amenities are an outdoor pool, hot tub and fitness center.

The easternmost of two Courtyard hotels near San Antonio International Airport provides a little oasis of calm amidst the surrounding freeways and industrial estates; the tree-lined building is centered on a pleasant courtyard garden with pool, hot tub & gazebo, and the place is generally quiet despite the proximity to the airport flight path. Services at the 133 room hotel include complimentary 24 hour airport shuttle, fitness center, 2 meeting rooms and a cafe serving breakfast; for other meals there are a few restaurants nearby though a much better selection is found 2 miles west around the North Star Mall.

Rooms at the Fairfield Inn by Marriott San Antonio Airport are a little on the small side but rates are reasonable and the location is good, alongside the 410 freeway and a short walk from the 140-store North Star Mall. The airport is just over a mile away, served by free shuttle (6 am to 10 pm). All the expected amenities are present - free continental breakfast, guest laundry, free parking, pool (indoor), hot tub and fitness center.

Right next to the Fairfield Inn stands another Marriott San Antonio airport hotel, the Courtyard - a 4 floor building alongside I-410 close to the junction with US 281, though set back a little from the highway so its rooms are nice and quiet. The hotel is less than half a mile from the North Star Mall and other nearby shops & restaurants; the airport is a mile east and downtown San Antonio 8 miles south. The staff are efficient, and the 78 rooms, although not particularly new, are clean and well maintained. The on-site Courtyard Cafe is open for breakfast (not free), while for leisure the hotel offers a fitness center, indoor pool and whirlpool.

The newly built (early 2009) SpringHill Suites by Marriott is just about the closest hotel to San Antonio International Airport, located one mile south of the terminals along the I-410 frontage road (south side), one block from US 281. The building is bright and modern; it contains 116 studio suites, featuring subtle blue/green decor, a large work desk, 37" flat screen TV, luxurious bedding and a pantry (microwave, sink, refrigerator, coffee maker). Complimentary items include parking, airport shuttle, internet access and buffet breakfast. A sun deck, indoor pool and fitness center are available for relaxation.

The TownePlace Suites by Marriott is one of the newer hotels near San Antonio Airport, built next to the elevated carriageways of the I-410/US 281 interchange, one mile southwest of the terminal buildings. The property has a particularly good reputation, for its cleanliness, friendly staff, quality of the free hot breakfast, and handy location - a shopping center with restaurants is one block south, the larger stores of North Star Mall are a mile west, and the city center is an easy 7 mile drive south. The hotel has a fitness center, outdoor heated pool, bbq area, guest laundry, and 106 suites featuring a full kitchen. Free airport shuttle is provided.

The newly renovated Best Western Posada Ana Inn-Airport serves north central San Antonio as well as the international airport, which is 0.5 miles to the north, and linked by complimentary shuttle. The hotel is a block southwest of the 410/US 281 intersection at 8600 Jones Maltsberger Rd - a 2 storey, 59 room building with an outdoor pool, gift shop and free deluxe continental breakfast. Downtown San Antonio is 6 miles to the south.

The beautiful new Cambria Suites is a high quality, mid range, all-suite hotel just 1.7 miles from San Antonio International Airport by the Broadway St exit of I-410, and it offers 126 bright, spacious rooms, which are well soundproofed and so allow for a quiet night's sleep despite the nearby runways. Highlight of the hotel is a welcoming atrium lobby, setting for the lounge/bar, complete with large screen media wall. There is also a restaurant on site, open for breakfast & dinner, plus a well equipped fitness center, an indoor pool & spa, a sundry shop, and a range of facilities for business, meetings, banquets and events. Airport shuttle and wireless internet access are both complementary.

Three miles north of San Antonio International Airport, the Comfort Suites Airport North is an all suite hotel equipped with gift shop, convenience store and guest laundry facilities, located on the east side of US 281 just north of the W Bitters Rd exit. This is a busy commercial area with many company buildings within half a mile - and also, at least 10 restaurants. Complimentary items include an airport shuttle, full breakfast and coffee.

One mile east of San Antonio airport, the Comfort Inn & Suites is a well reviewed hotel in a partly residential district just south of the 410 loop road (at 8640 Crownhill Blvd, next to the Broadway St exit). A courtesy airport shuttle is available between 6 am and 10 pm, and other amenities include an outdoor pool, convenience store, fitness center, free continental breakfast, business center and guest laundry. Downtown San Antonio is 8 miles south along US 281.

Besides Fort Sam Houston a few miles south, the Rodeway Inn is also close to the international airport and the downtown/Riverwalk district (both 5 miles away), as well as being just down the street from a shopping center (Terrell Plaza). The inn is small (44 room) and basic, with free internet access and free coffee the only amenities, but the place is clean and welcoming, and rates are low. Some rooms are available with refrigerator and microwave.
