There are two Holiday Inn hotels along San Antonio's Riverwalk; this one is the larger (23 floors; 313 rooms) located at 217 N St Marys St, on the east side of the river and right at the middle of the most popular section of the Riverwalk, with many bars, nightclubs, shops and restaurants nearby. Also within half a mile is the Rivercenter Mall and the Alamo. Half the 507 rooms of the 30 storey Marriott San Antonio Riverwalk overlook the eastern spur of the river, which runs right past the hotel and terminates next to the Rivercenter Mall, just the other side of Commerce St. The Marriott is one of the closest hotels to The Alamo (0.3 miles), and within one mile of most of the attractions of central San Antonio. The Best Western Sunset Suites hotel is close to San Antonio's Riverwalk area though not actually in it, being 1 mile east, at 1103 E Commerce St, just east of exit 141B of I-37. Closer sites of interest include the Alamodome and Hemisfair Park, both a short walk southwards. This is an all suite hotel (64 rooms; 4 floors), that occupies a historic building built in 1905; for 40 years this was one of the main grocery stores in the city and also hosted an illegal nightclub during the prohibition era. The surrounding Sunset Station district has many more fine old buildings from the early 20th century, as a well as a good selection of restaurants.
