Sacramento Hotels

The well established Citizen Hotel became part of Marriott's Autograph Collection in 2015; a group of upscale, fully featured properties, usually occupying historic buildings. This is no exception; the Citizen was built in the early 1900s to a design by architect George Selland, situated in the center of the city along J Street, three blocks from the state capitol. There are numerous shops, bars and restaurants nearby, and one dining outlet onsite, open for breakfast, lunch & dinner. The 14 story hotel has 198 rooms & suites, all individually decorated and furnished, and providing spectacular views across the downtown area. Other features are a fitness center, lobby bar and 9,000 sq ft of event space.

The Westin is one of the few hotels on the south side of Sacramento, and it has a beautiful setting right on the banks of the Sacremento River, in a residential neighborhood 4 miles from the city center. Interstate 5 runs past close by; access is from the Sutterville Road exit. The onsite restaurant, specializing in seafood dishes, serves breakfast, lunch & dinner, accompanied by relaxing river views - either indoors or on the outdoor terrace, complete with firepits. Most rooms have a balcony, looking out either across the river, or of the tree-lined surroundings. Accommodations include several sizes of suite. The hotel also offers an outdoor pool, a fitness center and a spa.

The Exchange Sacramento, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton Hotels, occupies the historic, ten storey California Fruit Building (constructed in 1914), considered the first high rise structure in the city. The hotel is situated at the corner of J Street and 4th Street, one block from the Golden 1 Center and three blocks from the Sacramento River. I-5 runs close by to the west. Highlights include a lobby-level restaurant and a third floor bar, on top of the podium extension below the accommodation block.

The Sheraton Grand is the second largest hotel in Sacramento, with 503 rooms & suites, in a 27 storey tower along J Street in the middle of downtown, two blocks from the California State Capitol. The lobby and other facilities with contained within the historic Public Market Building, dating from 1923; a handsome, brick-lined structure which for over 50 years was the main place for buying and selling of local produce. Two dining outlets are a cafe serving breakfast & lunch, and a restaurant/lounge, open for lunch, dinner & evening drinks, while other facilities include a fitness center, outdoor pool and extensive event space.

The Fort Sutter Hotel was newly constructed in 2020; an upscale, boutique property at the corner of 28th Street and Capitol Avenue in the Midtown district of Sacramento, one block from the Elvas Freeway and just across the street from the Sutter Medical Center. Sutter's Fort State Historic Park is also just a short walk away. The six story, 105 room, boutique hotel offers all the expected facilities, including meeting space and onsite restaurant/bar. Room service is provided.

Although one of Hilton's older properties, the 322 room Sacramento Arden West hotel is regularly renovated and remains a favorite with city center visitors. The mid rise building is positioned by the Capital City Freeway, 3 miles north of downtown, in a business district through within walking distance of the main shopping and dining outlets at Arden Fair Mall (a free shuttle is provided). Sacramento International Airport is 13 miles northwest. The main onsite restaurant, Harvard Street Grille, serves breakfast, lunch amp; dinner, Cameo Lounge is open for dinner and evening/afternoon drinks, while light breakfast is also available at Cafe Expresso. Meetings facilities are amongst the best in the city, with over 18,000 sq ft of space, catering for events of up to 750 people.

DoubleTree Sacramento has an unusual layout, the guest rooms divided amongst seven blocks radiating from the central garden/pool area, all surrounded a spacious parking lot, well shielded by trees from the nearby main roads, Arden Way and business route 80. A corporate district adjoins the hotel to the south, but most of the neighborhood is given over to shopping and leisure, with nearby locations including California State Fair, Arden Fair Mall, Raging Waters water park and Riverfront Park beside the American River. All these places are within range of the hotels complimentary three mile radius shuttle. Amongst the many facilities of the upscale, full service hotel are a restaurant (all day room service available), lounge, club/bar, snack/coffee counter, fitness center and 32,000 sq ft of meeting space, including three ballrooms.

The 179 room, eight story AC Hotel Sacramento opened early 2024, built on a relatively small plot (third of an acre) at the junction of I Street and 7th Street, near the Golden 1 Center, Sacramento City Hall and Cesar Chavez Plaza. On the ground floor are the lobby, meeting space and several retail outlets, plus the AC Lounge, featuring meals, including tapas, and evening drinks. The hotel also offers and fitness center and a business center. Parking is available in the basement garage.

The high rise Holiday Inn Sacramento is one of the largest hotels in the central area, offering 359 rooms and suites in a 16 floor building that overlooks the Sacramento River, interstate 5 and the Downtown Plaza. The location is the corner of 3rd & J streets, immediately east of exit 519B of the interstate and 0.7 miles from the state capitol buildings. Most of the attractions of downtown Sacramento are within walking distance, as is the Amtrak station just the other side of I St. As expected for a full service, city center hotel, the Holiday Inn Sacramento has many amenities, principally a restaurant & lounge, outdoor pool, large fitness center, newsstand & gift shop, guest laundry, and 13 meeting rooms totaling over 13,000 sq ft of event space.

One of four Marriott hotels within 1.5 miles of each other in northwest Sacramento, the Courtyard Airport Natomas has a particularly quiet, relaxing location, surrounded by tall trees at the edge of the Sacramento River, within walking distance from hiking, fishing, boating and picnicking at Discovery Park. Sacramento International Airport is a 9 mile drive away, served by complimentary shuttle. Like most properties of this brand, the hotel has a nice courtyard garden, containing flowerbeds, lawns, an outdoor pool and gazebo; the other main facilities are a cafe serving breakfast, a 24 hour market, two meeting rooms and a fitness center.

Courtyard Sacramento Cal Expo shares a parking lot with two other Marriott hotels (Fairfield Inn and TownePlace Suites), though offers the best facilities - the Courtyard Panini Bar and Grill (open for breakfast, lunch & dinner), an outdoor pool/hot tub, fitness center, business center, and 5 meeting rooms totaling 5,229 sq ft of event space. The 152 rooms and the public areas have modern, contemporary decor, and are well maintained and spotlessly clean. All sites in Sacramento are within easy reach via the Capital City Freeway (Business I-80) which runs by just to the east.

The most southerly of the three Courtyard hotels in Sacramento is part of the University of California-Davis Medical Center, in a generally quiet location since apart from the hospital, the surroundings are all residential, and the nearest main road (US 50) is 0.7 miles north, along Stockton Boulevard. Downtown Sacramento is just a 2.5 mile drive away, however, so the hotel is convenient for general travelers as well as those visiting or working at the UC Davis center. The Courtyard offers a good choice of dining, with 4 outlets on site - a Mediterranean restaurant, lounge, cafe and a branch of Starbucks. Other facilities include extensive meeting space, an outdoor pool, hot tub, convenience store and a fitness center.

The newest Residence Inn hotel in Sacramento opens spring 2025; a little way northeast of downtown, along Hwy 160, within walking distance of extensive parkland beside the American River. There are plenty of shops and restaurants close by, and several healthcare facilities including Sacramento Behavioral Hospital. Hot breakfast, weekday evening receptions and grocery shopping service are complimentary. Accommodations, all with full kitchen, are available in studio, one bedroom and two bedroom layouts.

Along El Camino Avenue next to exit 521B of I-5, Residence Inn Sacramento Airport offers long (or short) stay lodging with a good range of facilities - the 126 studio or two-bedroom suites all contain a full kitchen complete with dishwasher, oven, microwave & refrigerator, while the hotel provides both free hot breakfast buffet daily and a free evening reception (Mon-Fri) where beer, wine and snacks are available. At the center of the complex is a garden area, an outdoor pool, hot tub and sports court, while one mile south are many leisure opportunities around Discovery Park and the Sacramento River.

The 15 floor Residence Inn at Capitol Park is regarded by many as the best hotel in Sacramento. It has a great location, overlooking the greenery of Capitol Park at the corner of 15th and L streets, within a short walk of the Capitol buildings, the Downtown Plaza and Sacramento Convention Center. Most of the 235 suites have far reaching views over the park and the city center; all are modern and very well equipped, containing two phone lines, and a full kitchen complete with refrigerator, microwave, stove, coffee maker & granite work surfaces. For relaxation the Residence Inn offers an outdoor pool, Jacuzzi, and exercise room. Free deluxe continental breakfast is served each morning.

Like most Embassy Suites hotels, the Sacramento Riverfront property is centered on a floor-to-ceiling atrium lobby, containing fountains, pools, plants and comfortable seating, plus a dining area where the free hot breakfast is served. Evening receptions are also complimentary, and other meals can be purchased from one of three dining outlets: Marketplace Cafe, Tower Bridge Bistro and Tower Bridge Lounge/Bar. The eight floor building enjoys an enviable location right on the east bank of the Sacramento River, beside Tower Bridge on the Lincoln Highway; a short walk from Riverfront Dock and Crocker Park, this latter on the far side of Interstate 5, which runs right past to the east. Leisure facilities are a fitness center, indoor pool and hot tub. The hotel has 8,000 sq ft of indoor/outdoor event space.

The Homewood Suites is one of the closest hotels to Sacramento International Airport - six miles southeast beside I-5, in the North Natomas business district. The modern, three floor, 123 room property features high quality, all-suite, extended stay lodging; all accommodations are suites, in two bedroom, one bedroom or studio configurations, and all contain a fully equipped kitchen. Some have views over the central garden area, which includes a hot tub, pool, basketball court and bbq grills, while the remainder look out over the lightly developed, partly rural surroundings. Full hot breakfast and evening dinner & drinks (Mon-Thu) are complimentary. The hotel has meeting space, and fitness & business centers, the latter both open 24 hours a day.

The small (32 room) Hotel Med Park offers upscale, boutique accommodations within a short walk of UC Davis Medical Center - along Stockton Boulevard, close to various other medical and university premises. Guest rooms feature pillow-top mattresses, luxury sheeting, a microwave, refrigerator and free wi-fi, while the hotel has a business center, fitness center, event space and a dining room for the free breakfast. Several suites are available with a spacious living area, including a sofa bed. The hotel is situated 3 miles southeast of the city center, near highways 50 and 99.

Places within a few blocks of Inn off Capitol Park include California State Capitol Museum, Fremont Park, Sacramento Convention Center and of course Capitol Park just to the west. The fashionable hotel is well shielded by trees from the surrounding streets and is centered on a tranquil atrium lobby, containing a seating area and a few palm plants, around which run corridors leading to the guest rooms. Accommodations include a selection of suites with sofa bed and/or hot tub bath, but all rooms are large, comfortable and nicely furnished, equipped with refrigerator/microwave. Continental breakfast, wi-fi and a daily newspaper are complimentary; other amenities are a business center and fitness room.

Hilton Garden Inn is one of many hotels in the Natomas district towards the north edge of Sacramento, situated beside Interstate 5 at the end of a short street, within walking distance of shopping and dining. Sacramento International Airport is six miles west along the freeway. The hotel has a restaurant/bar onsite, open for breakfast, dinner, room service & evening drinks, plus a 24 hour market where snacks and sundries can be purchased. For recreation, the usual pool (outdoor) and fitness center are available. The function space accommodates events of up to 250 people, reception style.

On the west side of I-5 between exits 521A and 521B, the Hilton Garden Inn provides comfortable, modern accommodations with a wide range of facilities and a scenic setting; surrounded by trees, which help shield the property from the adjacent freeway, and backing on to farmland to the north. The exterior includes a pool, hot tub, patio, flower beds and al fresco dining area; as well as free hot breakfast, the hotel has its own restaurant/lounge, open for dinner and evening drinks. All the oversized rooms and suites contain a refrigerator & microwave, and cookable meals can be purchased from a 24 hour convenience store. A free shuttle is provided to the airport, 9 miles north along the interstate.

The Four Points by Sheraton is the closest hotel to Sacramento International Airport, 5 miles from the terminals along Del Paso Road in the North Natomas district, near the I-5 intersection. The surroundings are partly rural, though with a small shopping center opposite, and several restaurants within walking distance to the east, on the far side of the freeway. Wi-fi and airport transportation are complimentary. The onsite restaurant serves breakfast & dinner, and provides room service. Also available are a fitness center, outdoor pool and five event rooms, largest capacity 400 people.

The Hampton Inn is an early 2018 addition to the relatively small number of hotels on the east side of Sacramento, situated just south of the California State University precinct, near the 65th Street exit of US 50. The immediate neighborhood has a mixture of industrial and commercial premises, plus several restaurants. The University/65th Street station on the gold light rail line is just down the street. Accommodations include a selection of suites with sofa bed and wet bar; all rooms have a coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave. Also available are a convenience store, meeting space, pool, and 24 hour business center. Hot breakfast is complimentary.

Half way (five miles) between Sacramento Airport and the city center, the Hampton Inn has an easily-reached location at the Del Paso Road exit of Interstate 5, bordered by open fields to the south and adjoining the North Natomas business park to the east. Places two miles or less away include Sleep Train Arena, Natomas Regional Park and Natomas Marketplace, while amongst the many restaurants within walking distance are Denny's, IHOP, KFC and Panda Express. Hot breakfast and wi-fi are complimentary, and the hotel offers all the usual facilities for business and meetings. Rooms to the south overlook a pretty garden area, with pool, hot tub and patio.

The easterly of the two Hampton Inn hotels in Sacramento is part of a line of businesses along the southern Hwy 80 frontage road, bordered to the south by a residential estate. Alister MacKenzie Golf Course is just the other side of the freeway, though 1.1 miles away by road, while the city center is 5 miles southwest. The hotel provides free hot breakfast (take-out version available); for other meals, the closest restaurants are about a mile away along Fulton Avenue, together with a selection of shops. Leisure facilities are a fitness center and pool/hot tub, these in a secluded setting right at the rear of the property. The meeting space can accommodate events of up to 100 people.

New for 2024, Home2 Suites Sacramento offers an outdoor pool, meeting space, business & fitness centers, and spacious accommodations, in studio and one bedroom layouts. All the suites have a kitchen, and separate living space. The hotel is situated at the 65th Street intersection of US 50, right opposite the University/65th St station on the RT light rail network, enabling easy travel around the city. There are many shops and restaurants nearby.

The second TownePlace Suites hotel in Sacramento is built at the corner of Arena Boulevard and Commerce Way in the Natomas district, on the east side of Interstate 5, and 6 miles north of the city center. Sleep Train Arena is within walking distance to the north, and there are many shops and restaurants just beyond. Sacramento International Airport is a quick 7 mile drive away. The all-suite hotel has 119 rooms, in studio, one bedroom and two bedroom layouts; all have a full kitchen. Wi-fi and hot breakfast are complimentary.

The TownePlace Suites hotel in northeast Sacramento is positioned alongside two other Marriott properties (Courtyard, Fairfield Inn), close to CalExpo and 3 miles from the city center. The property specializes in mid range extended stay lodging - there are 117 oversized rooms, ranging in size from studio suites to large two-bed suites; all contain a full kitchen, and all are very clean & well looked after. Complimentary buffet breakfast is served each day, though a better choice of dishes is available from the Courtyard opposite, or from several other nearby restaurants. The TownePlace Suites also has a pool, hot tub, fitness center and one meeting room.

The Element by Westin is a north Sacramento hotel, along the northern I-80 frontage road next to Promenade Shopping Center, 1.5 miles from the I-5 intersection. The international airport is 9 miles west, served by courtesy shuttle. Both daily hot breakfast and weekday evening receptions are complimentary. All accommodations are suites, studio and one bedroom, and all have a fully equipped kitchen. The hotel also offers an outdoor pool and a 24 hour fitness center, and provides bicycles for free guest use.

SpringHill Suites Sacramento Airport has become one of the top rated long stay hotels in town, because of the particularly clean and comfortable rooms, good customer service, relatively low rates, and the quiet, convenient location - at the edge of a small business park alongside I-5, 9 miles from the airport and 3.5 miles from downtown Sacramento. The all suite hotel (95 rooms on 4 floors) features an indoor heated pool, hot tub, free airport shuttle and free buffet breakfast. Business facilities are a 14 person boardroom and a business center.

Near the districts of North Highlands, Foothill Farms, Citrus Heights & Carmichael, the six floor, 230 room/suite Wyndham Sacramento serves visitors to the extensive northeast suburbs of Sacramento as well as travelers along the interstate, which runs next to the hotel - access is from I-80 exit 96 (Madison Avenue). The hotel is surrounded by several large stores and numerous restaurants, though all-day dining is available on-site at the Arbor Grille/Lounge. Other attractions are an attractive open lobby, an outdoor pool, gift shop, health/fitness center and over 15,000 square feet of meeting space.

The Aloft is a late 2024 addition to the group of hotels in the Natomas district of northern Sacramento, near I-5 at the Del Paso Road exit. The hotel has four stories and 113 rooms, together with a restaurant/bar, fitness center, meeting space, patio and outdoor pool. The loft-style accommodations feature luxurious bedding and walk-in showers. Guests are a short drive from several natural spaces including North Natomas regional Park and the Sacramento River.

In northeast Sacramento beside the Capitol City Freeway, the Ramada Hotel occupies a large building of four floors and 174 rooms, located along the busy Auburn Boulevard which has many stores, businesses and restaurants - though on-site dining is also available. The California State Exposition lies 4 miles southwest, with downtown Sacramento a further 4 miles away. Within walking distance on the far side of the freeway, the Haggin Oaks Golf Course offers 36 landscaped holes. Other above average amenities at the Ramada are a cocktail lounge, gift shop, car rental desk, resort-style outdoor pool with bar, and over 10,000 sq ft of meeting space.

The well reviewed Holiday Inn Express is one of the closest hotels to Sacramento Airport, located 5 miles east beside I-5 at along Advantage Way, just next to exit 525A of the interstate (Del Paso Road) - unlike most large airports, Sacramento is well outside the city, not close to any facilities. A complimentary airport shuttle is provided. The hotel is next to half a dozen restaurants, 0.5 miles from the Sleep Train Arena and a few blocks from several superstores. Accommodation comprises 100 new, spacious rooms & suites, with amenities of outdoor pool, convenience store, fitness center and guest laundry. Free hot breakfast buffet is prepared each morning.

The Holiday Inn Express hotel in northeast Sacramento borders a quiet residential district alongside I-80, just across from Haggin Oaks Golf Course and 3 miles from California Expo. Other attractions in the area include Town and Country Village, Del Paso Country Club and Arden Fair Mall. The hotel has 81 modern, spacious guest rooms and offers a good combination of facilities at a reasonable price, such as a complimentary shuttle, complimentary hot breakfast, pool, fitness center and business center.

Holiday Inn Express is the hotel of choice in West Sacramento, 3 miles from the main city center. The hotel lies in the middle of a commercial/industrial neighborhood next to the Harbor Boulevard exit of US 50, a mile east of the I-80 intersection, and is within walking distance of a few restaurants. Although small (with 55 rooms), the hotel is clean and new, well furnished and with friendly staff. Free hot breakfast buffet is served.

The Midtowner Hotel faces the east side of Hwy 80 at the edge of downtown Sacramento, within walking distance from such sites as Sutter's Fort State Historic Park, McKinkey Park and Sutter General Hospital, plus many restaurants, shops and other business premises. The exterior corridor guest rooms (all of which contain a refrigerator & microwave) face south or west, looking across the parking lot and outdoor pooll/hot tub to the busy urban neighborhood. Facilities are free wi-fi and free breakfast.

In the southeast suburbs of Sacramento close to highway 99 from Stockton, the Best Western John Jay Inn has 58 rooms on 3 floors, an outdoor pool, exercise room, spa, steam room and guest laundry. The hotel lies just north of the Mack Road exit of the highway, in a mixed residential/business area that also has a fair selection of fast food restaurants, and is 9 miles south of downtown Sacramento. All the rooms contain a microwave & refrigerator, ironing & coffee making facilities; also available are several types of suite. Free continental breakfast is served.

Half the 113 rooms of the Best Western Sandman Motel have views over the adjacent Sacramento River, while the others look out over the spacious parking area with outdoor pool at one side. The property has a relatively quiet location along a side road just west of I-5 (exit 520; Richards Boulevard), yet just 1.5 miles from the State Capitol at the center of Sacramento. A mile to north are the extensive footpaths and woodland of Discovery Park, alongside the American River. The two story motel offers free breakfast, a cocktail lounge, spa and guest laundry.

The SureStay Plus Hotel occupies a spacious site at the edge of a leafy residential area on the north side of the Sacramento Freeway, and is centered on a good-sized courtyard garden with outdoor pool, lined on three sides by the two story, exterior corridor accommodation blocks. The hotel has a restaurant/bar onsite, and other amenities of a business center and coin-operated laundry. Full hot breakfast is complimentary. A microwave and refrigerator are installed in all accommodations.

SureStay Plus Sacramento, a Best Western hotel, is a relatively old though recently renovated and affordable property of two exterior corridor floors, at the Richards Boulevard exit of Interstate 5, within walking distance of parkland and trails alongside the American River. Guest rooms are in two blocks, facing the central parking lot, which is shared with a Denny's restaurant. The free breakfast includes a selection of hot items. The hotel has a small outdoor pool, close to the freeway though well shielded by trees, plus a hot tub and coin-operated laundry facility.

Best Western Sacramento is part of a small group of buildings next to I-80 at the El Camino Avenue intersection, including another hotel, two restaurants, a gas station and a travel center, all bordered by open farmland to the west. This location is at the northwest edge of the city, 8 miles south of Sacramento International Airport; a shuttle service is provided, for a small fee. The three floor motel is of modern construction, with interior corridors, and its other main amenities are meeting space, a business center and free continental breakfast. There are several studio suites available featuring a microwave and refrigerator.

Right at the edge of open countryside yet only a 4 mile drive from downtown Sacramento, Marriott's Fairfield Inn offers quiet, comfortable and affordable lodging in the care of friendly, attentive staff and with good facilities - free airport shuttle, free hot breakfast, 24 hour convenience store, outdoor pool, hot tub and fitness room. There are 93 rooms, including 25 executive king suites that contain a microwave, refrigerator, sofa bed and enhanced working area. The inn sits next to exit 85 of I-80 (El Camino Avenue), close to a couple of restaurants though a mile or more away from most facilities.

The Fairfield Inn Sacramento Cal Expo is the lowest priced of three adjacent Marriott hotels just west of the California Exposition Center along Tribute Road - next to the Exposition Boulevard exit of the Capitol City Freeway, which leads directly into downtown Sacramento (3 miles south). Although close to a main road, the location is quiet, and the open spaces of the American River Parkway are just a couple of minute's walk away. The 74 room, three floor inn is new, clean and well managed, providing services of free hot breakfast, a fitness center, hot tub and outdoor heated pool

The Comfort Inn & Suites is a southeast Sacramento hotel, just south of the Howe Avenue exit of US 50 and within half a mile of Granite Park, California State University-Sacramento, and the American River Parkway. Downtown is 5 miles west. The surrounding neighborhood has several large stores and a selection of restaurants, closest being Applebee's and Chili's; free hot breakfast is provided at the hotel, however. The clean, new building contains 68 rooms on tree floors, an indoor pool, exercise room, guest laundry and business center.

On the banks of the Sacramento River, Comfort Suites Downtown occupies a modern, new-looking, three story building with easy access from I-5 and to the city center - the State Capitol is 1.5 miles south and the hotel is just west of exit 520 of the interstate. The hotel has a sheltered outdoor pool/hot tub, away from the main road, plus other amenities of free continental breakfast, guest laundry, and a microwave/refrigerator in each room.

Quality Inn Elk Grove (formerly Red Roof) occupies a two floor, interior corridor building of two blocks, either side of a secluded courtyard garden, and surrounded by plenty of parking space. The hotel is 5 miles north of Elk Grove and 9 miles south of downtown Sacramento - along Hwy 99, at the Mack Road exit. Features are free hot breakfast, free wi-fi and a fitness center. Accommodations are equipped with a coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator.

Quality Inn Sacramento Downtown benefits from a scenic location right on the east bank of the Sacramento River, a short walk (via footbridge) from Discovery Park which contains lengthy trails through wooded parkland beside the adjacent American River. The interior corridor property is part of a group of hotels along a quiet side street near I-5 exit 520 on the north edge of downtown; California State Capitol is 1.8 miles south. The usual two complimentary amenities of wi-fi and (hot) breakfast are provided, plus an outdoor pool and business center. Guest rooms contain a microwave and refrigerator.

One of a group of hotels around 15th and 16th streets towards the north edge of downtown Sacramento, the Quality Inn occupies a typical two story building with exterior corridors and covered parking, and provides cheap, simple accommodation within walking distance of the main sites in the center, including the Convention Center (1 block), Central Park (4 blocks) and the Downtown Plaza (8 blocks). There are plenty of shops, restaurants & entertainment centers nearby, including the Music Circus theater just across the street. The inn has an outdoor pool and serves free continental breakfast.

The pet friendly Travelodge motel sits on the south side of US 50 just off Bradshaw Boulevard, which marks the boundary between Sacramento and Rancho Cordova. Nearby are various shops and restaurants, and an extensive business district on the far side of the freeway. Sacramento Mather Airport is 2.8 miles east. The refrigerator/microwave-equipped rooms are contained within a compact, three floor building with exterior corridors, centered on a rather shady courtyard garden and outdoor pool, receiving sunshine only in the middle of the day. The Econo Lodge is a downtown Sacramento hotel, located in a wooded neighborhood at the corner of 16th and H Streets, within a mile of the Convention Center, Capitol Park and the State Capitol. Accommodation is basic but comfortable, and rather cheaper than most other hotels in central Sacramento. At the Florin Road exit of Hwy 99, seven miles south of downtown Sacramento, the Super 8 has a choice of 61 interior corridor guest rooms, all featuring a refrigerator, microwave and free wi-fi. Half have views westwards, across the tree-lined freeway, while the others overlook the adjacent buildings, which include a couple of restaurants. The motel offers a small outdoor pool, right beside the highway off-ramp though shielded behind a row of bushes, plus free continental breakfast.
