In the prosperous town of Foster City, on the shores of San Francisco Bay, the Crowne Plaza San Francisco-Peninsula-Airport is a luxurious, 4-star hotel featuring 350 rooms & suites, a tropical atrium lobby, 4 restaurants & bars, a large indoor pool, several shops, a fourth floor fitness center with views over the bay, a 24 hour business center, and 19 meeting rooms (14,758 sq ft of event space). The international airport lies 9 miles north along Highway 101, served by the hotel's complimentary shuttle; downtown San Francisco is 10 miles further. Just one block west, the Bridgepointe Mall has various large stores and a selection of restaurants, while also within walking distance are several waterside parks, lagoons, and paved trails.

Located in the bustling center of Foster City, the Courtyard by Marriott has the familiar rectangular design built around a central courtyard garden, containing a gazebo, large trees and shaded walkways, though not in this case a swimming pool as that is indoors, together with the fitness center, hot tub, 24 hour market, lounge/bar, cafe (open for breakfast only), and 2 meeting rooms. The Courtyard receives good reviews for its efficient staff, convenient location and the clean, spacious rooms. Highway 92 runs past one block from the hotel, reaching the center of San Mateo 2 miles west and Hayward 11 miles east, on the far side of San Francisco Bay.

New for summer 2017, the TownePlace Suites is the second Marriott hotel in Foster City, built right next to the 92 Freeway though accessed by a quieter side road, and adjoining a shopping complex with such stores as Target and Staples. The five story, extended stay property has 121 suites in two bedroom, one bedroom and studio configurations; all include a full kitchen. Free continental breakfast is provided each morning, while snacks and cookable meals can be purchased from a 24 hour convenience store. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance, on both sides of the freeway.
