San Angelo Hotels

The Holiday Inn Express is 3 miles west of downtown San Angelo at 4613 Houston Harte Expressway (US 67) - a residential district, close to the edge of the suburbs and the start of farmland. The newly opened hotel has 28 rooms and 40 suites, with all 68 having a microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker, while other amenities are a 24 hour fitness center, outdoor pool and complimentary breakfast.

Formerly a Hawthorne Suites, this hotel was converted to a Staybridge Suites in 2007 and now offers 80 suites on 3 floors, catering for long stay visitors to San Angelo. The location is a mile southwest of downtown, at 1355 Knickerbocker Rd - TX 584 - opposite the sports grounds of San Angelo College. There isn't much else in the immediate vicinity, with the nearest shops and restaurants being a few blocks north or south. Amenities include a gift shop, outdoor pool and a health/fitness center.

San Angelo's Best Western hotel is a compact, 55 room property towards the southwest of town, at 3017 Loop 306 - just south of the highway, at the College Hills Blvd exit. There are many shops, restaurants and businesses along highway 306, including the Sunset Shopping Mall just to the west. The hotel offers free continental breakfast and an outdoor pool.

The second Marriott hotel in San Angelo is the SpringHill Suites (open early 2010), a handsome four floor building containing 96 studio suites, all equipped with a sofa bed, pantry (refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, sink), and separate areas for sleeping, living & working. The hotel has a full service lounge/bar, a 24 hour convenience store and a dining area for the free breakfast; for other meals there are various restaurants within walking distance to the south, along Sherwood Way. Leisure facilities are an outdoor pool, whirlpool, fitness center and putting green. The hotel is located along Southwest Blvd, close to US 67 on the west side of San Angelo.

Built in 2004, the Fairfield Inn of San Angelo retains its clean, new appearance, and offers 73 spacious, well maintained rooms, plus several executive suites that contain a microwave, refrigerator and sofa-sleeper. The hotel is located at 1459 Knickerbocker Rd, on the southwest side of town opposite the Angelo State University campus - a few minute's walk from 3 restaurants and half a mile away from a shopping center. Free continental breakfast is provided, while for relaxation guests can use the outdoor pool, hot tub and fitness center.

The Comfort Inn of San Angelo has a southwesterly location along the 306 loop road, at the northwest corner of the intersection with Knickerbockers Rd, and about half way between US 67 and US 87. This is a busy commercial neighborhood; there are several restaurants nearby (in addition to one on the premises), and important sites within a mile include the San Angelo Community Medical Center, Sunset Mall and Bentwood Country Club. The hotel has an outdoor pool/hot tub, cocktail lounge, exercise room and free continental breakfast.

Comfort Suites San Angelo is located along the north frontage road of the Houston Harte Expressway (US 67), next to the exit for TX 853, Arden Rd - in a rural area right at the west edge of the city. There are a good selection of restaurants nearby, and all important sites in San Angelo are within a 4 mile drive. For leisure, the hotel has an outdoor pool, hot tub and exercise room.

Clarion Hotel San Angelo enjoys a scenic, tree-lined location on the south banks of Rio Concho, within walking distance of the city center yet situated in a quiet, residential area along a side street, adjacent to San Angelo Riverwalk. The nearest restaurants are four blocks west; other places close by include Rio Concho Park, McNease Convention Center and San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts. The 148 room hotel has a pool, sundeck & picnic area outside, while interior facilities are a business center, convenience store and meeting space for up to 400, conference-style. Free deluxe continental breakfast is provided.

Hilton Hotels are represented in San Angelo by the 64 room Hampton Inn, located along Hwy 306 on the southwest side of the city, close to a selection of shops, restaurants and other businesses. The nearest mall (Sunset Center) is one mile west. The hotel is a well established, three floor property, renovated in 2011, that provides free hot breakfast and is adjacent to an IHOP restaurant. A pool and hot tub are available for relaxation, while a business center and free internet access cater for those here to work.

The Motel 6 is centrally located in San Angelo along US 87 (Abe St), adjacent to Highway 67 and within a few blocks of most places in the downtown area, though it has quite a peaceful setting overlooking the wooded banks of the North Concho River, and the edge of the Santa Fe golf course. Room rates are low, reflecting the basic amenities - wi-fi (for a small fee), laundry, free coffee and an outdoor pool. There are many restaurants close by.
