Grand Junction Hotels

The Holiday Inn hotel opened in 2009 along Crossroads Blvd on the north side of Grand Junction, built along a quiet side road facing I-70 - one mile from exit 31 of the interstate and 1.5 miles from the airport. The hotel is a substantial building of 4 floors and 120 modern, well appointed rooms & suites, the latter with full kitchenette facilities. The on-site restaurant/bar is open all day (room service available), and there are various other dining outlets within walking distance. Leisure facilities are the expected pool (indoor), whirlpool and fitness center, while for meetings/events the hotel has a business center and 3 rooms accommodating events of up to 140 guests.

One of relatively few hotels on the west side of Grand Junction, the Holiday Inn Express has 89 rooms & suites on 4 floors, located near the edge of town at 625 Rae Lynn St, in a small commercial district just north of US 50. Downtown Grand Junction is 4 miles southeast, the Colorado River is half a mile south, and just a short walk east is Mesa Mall, reputedly the premier shopping venue in western Colorado. The hotel has an indoor pool and serves free continental breakfast. A few miles south is the approach road to the red cliffs and canyons of Colorado National Monument.

A brand new Candlewood Suites hotel opened summer 2011 on the west side of Grand Junction, opposite a sister IHG property (the Holiday Inn Express) - both are a short walk from Mesa Mall, and one block from US 6/50. Interstate 70 (exit 28) is one mile north. The Candlewood Suites provides spacious, well-equipped, all-suite accommodation, with 97 rooms, a convenience store, business center, 24 hour fitness center, barbeque grills and guest laundry. All the suites have a full kitchen, DVD player and executive desk.

Another hotel along Horizon Drive on the north edge of Grand Junction, close to the airport, the 136 room Courtyard Grand Junction opened in 2007 so all rooms are clean, new, modern - and quiet, since although close to interstate 70, the inn is far enough away to escape all the traffic noise. Free hot breakfast is provided; for other meals guests can walk to half a dozen restaurants within 3 blocks. Indoor facilities are a sports court, pool, hot tub, business center and 5 meeting rooms (5,300 sq ft of space).

Residence Inn Grand Junction shares a parking lot with another Marriott hotel (the Courtyard); both are new, well regarded properties, with good staff and modern facilities. The 104 suites at the Residence Inn contain separate living/working/sleeping areas plus a full kitchen - equipped with dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator and stove. Food for cooking can be ordered and delivered via the hotel's complimentary grocery shopping service. Full breakfast and evening social hour (Mon-Thu) are provided free of charge; other facilities are an indoor pool, hot tub, sports court, games room, and two meeting rooms.

Newly constructed SpringHill Suites is the third Marriott hotel in Grand Junction, open summer 2011. Accommodation comprises 100 spacious studio suites equipped with microwave, refrigerator, work desk and sofa bed, part of a handsome, modern, five storey building located close to the city center along Main Street, one block from US 50. All the expected amenities are available, including free wi-fi, complimentary hot breakfast, an indoor pool, guest laundry, fitness center, business center and a small (25 person) meeting room. A complimentary shuttle is provided to Grand Junction Airport, 5 miles north.

The Fairfield Inn is an early 2012 addition to the hotel choices in central Grand Junction, after full renovation of an existing property, located next to Two Rivers Convention Center along Main Street, one block from US 50. Other nearby places include Colorado Mesa University (1 mile), the Colorado River (0.7 miles) and Mesa Mall (2.5 miles). Rates are relatively low but facilities are good - free breakfast, pool, fitness center, free wi-fi, guest laundry - all accompanied by the usual high Marriott standards of customer service. For meetings there are two rooms available, largest capacity 45 people.

Best Western Sandman Motel at 708 Horizon Drive is one of a group of hotels either side of interstate 70 exit 31, on the north side of Grand Junction close to Walker Field airport. The downtown area is 4 miles south though the immediate vicinity has a small selection of shops and restaurants. The motel has 80 rooms on 2 floors with exterior corridors, and an outdoor heated pool.

With 290 rooms, the Clarion Inn (formerly Holiday Inn) is the largest hotel in Grand Junction, and offers many facilities. For dining the on-site restaurant/bar/lounge is open for breakfast, lunch & dinner, while for leisure guests have use of indoor and outdoor pools, a whirlpool, sun deck, fitness center and games room - this latter part of the 2 story atrium lobby. All guest rooms were refurbished in 2009, and some have extra amenities like a refrigerator, microwave, sofa bed and wet bar. The location is 755 Horizon Drive, just north of interstate 70, exit 31, and half a mile from the local airport. The hotels meeting/banquet facilities can accommodate events of up to 392 attendees.

The full service Grand Junction Quality Inn hotel is a large building with 107 rooms on 3 floors, part of a group of hotels and businesses along Horizon Drive, just southwest of exit 31 of I-70. Rooms at the rear of the hotel overlook the golf course of the Bookcliff Country Club, and the far side of the highway is mostly residential. The center of Grand Junction is about 4 miles to the southwest. The hotel has a heated pool, covered in winter but outdoors in summer, complete with landscaped patio area. Free full breakfast is served, and the hotel also has a restaurant on site ('Good Pastures'), for lunch and dinner. All rooms include a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, ironing facilities and cable TV.

The 57 room Comfort Inn Grand Junction hotel has a northerly location along Horizon Drive, half a block north of I-70 exit 31, on the southeast side of the highway; this is half a mile from the local airport and 4.5 miles from downtown Grand Junction. The inn serves complimentary continental breakfast, while for other dining there are 4 restaurants adjacent and others nearby. Leisure amenities are an indoor pool, hot tub, fitness center and games room.

Centrally located in downtown Grand Junction, the Rodeway Inn is a basic, friendly, affordable motel with amenities of free continental breakfast and an outdoor pool. The exterior corridor rooms are on two floors, and all are equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, work desk and wireless internet access. There are several restaurants and a supermarket a short walk away along the main road (US 50; N 1st St). Pets are welcome, for a fee.
