The Holiday Inn hotel opened in 2009 along Crossroads Blvd on the north side of Grand Junction, built along a quiet side road facing I-70 - one mile from exit 31 of the interstate and 1.5 miles from the airport. The hotel is a substantial building of 4 floors and 120 modern, well appointed rooms & suites, the latter with full kitchenette facilities. The on-site restaurant/bar is open all day (room service available), and there are various other dining outlets within walking distance. One of relatively few hotels on the west side of Grand Junction, the Holiday Inn Express has 89 rooms & suites on 4 floors, located near the edge of town at 625 Rae Lynn St, in a small commercial district just north of US 50. Downtown Grand Junction is 4 miles southeast, the Colorado River is half a mile south, and just a short walk east is Mesa Mall, reputedly the premier shopping venue in western Colorado. A brand new Candlewood Suites hotel opened summer 2011 on the west side of Grand Junction, opposite a sister IHG property (the Holiday Inn Express) - both are a short walk from Mesa Mall, and one block from US 6/50. Interstate 70 (exit 28) is one mile north. Another hotel along Horizon Drive on the north edge of Grand Junction, close to the airport, the 136 room Courtyard Grand Junction opened in 2007 so all rooms are clean, new, modern - and quiet, since although close to interstate 70, the inn is far enough away to escape all the traffic noise. The Fairfield Inn is an early 2012 addition to the hotel choices in central Grand Junction, after full renovation of an existing property, located next to Two Rivers Convention Center along Main Street, one block from US 50. Other nearby places include Colorado Mesa University (1 mile), the Colorado River (0.7 miles) and Mesa Mall (2.5 miles). The full service Grand Junction Quality Inn hotel is a large building with 107 rooms on 3 floors, part of a group of hotels and businesses along Horizon Drive, just southwest of exit 31 of I-70.
