In the western Rocky Mountain foothills, the small town of Cedaredge has one main hotel, the Howard Johnson Express, located a few blocks south of the town center along Hwy 65 in a lightly developed, partly wooded area. Most rooms at the two storey, interior corridor property have views of distant hills; the town is within a short drive of much national forest and BLM land, and two NPS units (
Black Canyon of the Gunnison,
