Open spring 2021, the Hampton Inn & Suites has a rural location at the southwest edge of Watsonville at the junction of highways 1 and 129, bordering open farmland to the rear. Sunset State Beach is 5 miles away, while the main shopping area in town is 2.5 miles north, along Main Street. The hotel provides good quality free hot breakfast each morning, including hot items; wi-fi is also complimentary. A fitness center and indoor pool are the two recreational amenities.

Generally regarded as the best mid range hotel in Watsonville, the Holiday Inn Express offers 65 clean, spacious rooms & suites, an indoor swimming pool, health/fitness center, whirlpool, guest laundry and free hot breakfast. The hotel is located west of the town center along Main Street (CA 152), where most of the large stores are found; scenic Highway 1 is half a mile away, and links with the main attractions of the Monterey Bay/Pajaro Valley area, from Santa Cruz and the redwood forests in the north (15 miles) to Carmel and the start of Big Sur in the south (30 miles).

A few blocks north of the center of Watsonville, the AAA three diamond-rated Best Western Rose Garden Inn along Freedom Boulevard is a small hotel of 45 rooms, divided into several blocks overlooking the courtyard, outdoor heated pool & spa. The neighborhood is largely residential, though Main Street (CA 152) runs just south, through a corridor of shops and restaurants; Highway 1 is 1.5 miles away. Guests may choose from a variety of accommodations, including rooms with a kitchenette, fireplace or spa; all contain a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and ironing facilities.

Comfort Inn Watsonville lies just off the northern approach to town (Freedom Boulevard), 2.5 miles from the city center, in a business district next to the local airport - so a little away from main travel routes though only 1.3 miles from Highway 1, and 6 miles from the nearest beach. The hotel occupies a modern, three story building that has refrigerators & microwaves in each guest room, and amenities of free continental breakfast , wireless internet access and a business center.

Watsonville's Rodeway Inn motel is just 3 miles from the Pacific coast, at Palm Beach State Park, and a similar distance from several riparian wildlife preserves. The city center is 1.5 miles northeast, on the far side of Hwy 1. The immediate surroundings are quite developed, with several industrial premises adjacent, though upper floor rooms have views towards open countryside, and the motel is shielded by a line of fir trees from the nearby roads and single track railway. Some guest rooms overlook the outdoor pool, and all contain a microwave & refrigerator. Wi-fi and continental breakfast are complimentary.
