The Lido House hotel opens early 2018, occupying a prominent site (formerly the City Hall) near the south end of Newport Boulevard, a short walk from the beach and the marina, as well as numerous restaurants & bars. The upscale accommodations are arranged around a central courtyard garden with saltwater pool, cabanas, sports court and outdoor event space, all lined by palm trees, while at the front is another garden area, facing the main road. Dining outlets are a rooftop lounge/bar (Topside) and a fine dining restaurant, the Pacific-style Mayor's Table. Accommodations include five, tri-level cottages, with full kitchens and private outdoor spaces. The hotel also has a full service spa.

The Duke Hotel in Newport Beach became part of the Marriott Hotels Renaissance collection in 2017. This is a large, impressively designed and architecturally sophisticated property of 440 guest rooms & suites, plus 32,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor function space, enough for events of up to 700 people. The hotel is part of a business district along MacArthur Boulevard, less than one mile south of John Wayne Airport. There are two restaurants on the premises, together with a fitness center, outdoor pool/whirlpool and a grand lobby. A full range of treatments and services are available at the Spa Sante. Complimentary shuttle service is available to the airport, on request.

The larger and slightly better equipped of two high quality Marriott hotels in Newport Beach has an excellent location along Newport Center Drive, with Fashion Island Mall on one side and the greens & fairways of Newport Beach Country Club on the other. Balboa Island and the nearest beach (Corona del Mar) are both within 2 miles. The majority of the 532 luxurious, well equipped rooms & suites are part of a 9 story tower; many have long distance views towards the Pacific Ocean and the San Joaquin Hills.
