Best Western East Zion Thunderbird Lodge
At the junction of US 89 with state highway 9, the Best Western East Zion Thunderbird Lodge at Mount Carmel Junction is close to some of the best scenery in Utah, with the east entrance to Zion National Park just to the west, Long Valley and Bryce Canyon to the north, and Kanab/Paria River/Grand Canyon North Rim to the south. The immediate surroundings are quite spectacular too - the hotel sits in the Virgin River Valley, bordered on both sides by colorful red and white sandstone cliffs, with many slot canyons and other interesting sites within a few miles. The Best Western is adjacent to the 9-hole Thunderbird Golf Course, two gas stations/general stores, and several restaurants. Other facilities include a gift shop, outdoor pool (seasonal), free internet access, laundry and banquet/catering facilities.
