North Central Austin Hotels

The pool is surrounded by quite extensive landscaped gardens, creating a calm retreat from the otherwise busy neighborhood.

In a quiet, residential district 7 miles north of downtown Austin, the Holiday Inn Express Austin North Central offers 101 clean, oversized rooms (equipped with refrigerator/microwave) on 4 floors, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, free internet access and good quality free continental breakfast. The hotel sits on the frontage road on the west side of I-35, just north of exit 241 (US 183), and adjacent to a wooded stream. Sites within 3 miles include the Highland Mall, University of Texas (JJ Pickle Center) and St Johns Park. Austin Bergstrom International Airport is 15 miles south.

At 7928 Gessner Drive, the Best Western Atrium North is just north of downtown Austin, next to US 183 and 2 blocks west of the junction with I-35 (exit 240A). This is quite a large hotel, with 117 rooms on 4 storeys, complete with floor-to-ceiling atrium, meeting space, indoor pool, dry sauna and dining area serving free full breakfast. A complimentary evening reception is staged on Tue and Wed. For lunch and dinner there are three restaurants adjacent and others within a short walk. The hotel is part of north Austin's business district, close to a number of corporate locations for the electronics industry, as well as being less than 3 miles from the main government buildings.

The 9 storey Courtyard Austin Central rises high above several adjacent hotels at the southwest side of the US 290 - I-35 junction, 4 miles north of downtown Austin, and it offers a superior standard of accommodation, with 198 recently renovated rooms & suites, all clean and well maintained, plus leisure amenities of an outdoor pool, whirlpool and fitness room. There are two major shopping centers within walking distance (Highland Mall & Capital Plaza) plus many restaurants; also nearby (2.5 miles) is the University of Texas-Austin. Freshly cooked breakfast is available at the hotel's Courtyard Cafe.

The Fairfield Inn & Suites in central Austin provides 63 rooms & suites, free continental breakfast, free internet access, an indoor pool/hot tub, business center and guest laundry. Rates are low, but not at the expense of good customer service, and the hotel is well connected to other locations in Austin by I-35 which passes by just to the east, meeting US 183 and US 190 a short distance north. Highland Mall and Lincoln Village are both within walking distance, on the far side of the 290 Freeway.

Comfort Inn Austin (700 Delamar Ave) has a north-central location at the edge of a residential district beside I-35, one of several hotels just southwest of the intersection with US 183 (exit 240A). Four blocks to the south is the large Highland Mall, and there are many restaurants nearby. The hotel contains 73 clean, well maintained rooms (some with microwave/refrigerator), an indoor swimming pool/hot tub and guest use copy/fax machines; continental breakfast and internet access are both provided free of charge.
