New for 2011, Holiday Inn Express Alpine features free hot breakfast, a good sized indoor pool, a fitness center, a microwave & refrigerator in all rooms, and facilities for meetings & business. The hotel enjoys quiet, country surroundings, along US 67/90 on the east side of town, a short walk from Sul Ross State University. There is one restaurant close by; others can be found between 1 and 2 miles away in the center. The lack of much development in the vicinity means that all rooms have long distance views towards distant mountains. The main attraction in this part of Texas is Big Bend National Park, 70 miles south along US 385.

In the small west Texas town of Alpine, the Best Western Classic Inn is a clean, comfortable and friendly hotel built in a rural location alongside US 90/67, close to Sul Ross State University. There are several restaurants and stores close by, and more in downtown Alpine, about a mile west. The inn is a fairly new, interior corridor building of 2 floors and 63 rooms (all containing microwave/refrigerator), and a good range of services: free full breakfast, outdoor pool, hot tub, guest laundry, and meetings/business facilities. The entrance features a spacious floor to ceiling lobby decorated with local art, plus exhibits about the history of Alpine.
