Hilton Garden Inn Gallup is located at the most central of the city's four I-40 exits (US 491), within walking distance of Rio West Mall and other large stores such as Walmart, Home Depot and Safeway supermarket. There are also many restaurants close by, and one on the premises, open for breakfast, dinner and evening drinks (plus room service). Snacks and refreshments are available 24 hours a day from the Pavilion Pantry convenience store. All accommodations contain a refrigerator and microwave, while the one bedroom suites additionally feature a sofa bed and hot tub bath. Five meeting rooms cater for events of up to 285 people.

The larger and more centrally located of two Hampton Inn hotels in Gallup sits alongside I-40 at the Munoz Drive exit (US 491), near Rio West Mall and various large stores including Wal-Mart, Home Depot & Safeway. The town center is one mile away, on the far side of the interstate (and the railway). There are plenty of restaurants close by, though free hot breakfast is prepared each morning at the hotel. Leisure amenities are the usual pool, hot tub and fitness center, while a business center and two meeting rooms are available for those here to work.

The TownePlace Suites by Marriott is a summer 2017 addition to the group of hotels on the east edge of Gallup, in between I-40 and old Route 66. Also here are two restaurants and a gas station; otherwise, the surroundings are largely undeveloped. The city center is 4.5 miles west. The four floor hotel contains 74 spacious suites in two bedroom, one bedroom and studio layouts, all of which include a full kitchen. General amenities are an indoor pool, business center, fitness center and meeting space. Free hot breakfast is served each morning.

Walmart, Home Depot and Rio West Mall are a short walk from SpringHill Suites Gallup, together with many restaurants - the new (summer 2016), 93 room property is part of the commercial district around the US 491/I-40 intersection, west of downtown; located along a side street, and so providing quiet lodging. All accommodations are studio suites, featuring a refrigerator, microwave, work desk, sofa bed and free wi-fi. Full breakfast is also complimentary. The expected business, meetings and leisure facilities are available, including an indoor pool.

Holiday Inn Express Gallup opened spring 2012 right at the east edge of town next to I-40 exit 26, beside a gas station, restaurant (Denny's) and other lodging, along old Route 66. A movie theater is also within walking distance, though otherwise the surroundings are largely undeveloped, and most facilities are 3 miles away in downtown Gallup. The stylish, newly built hotel contains 91 microwave/refrigerator-equipped rooms, serves free hot breakfast buffet, and provides guests with all the expected facilities: a pool, fitness center & hot tub for leisure, and a business center & meeting room for those here to work.

Five key features of Hampton Inn Gallup-West are free hot breakfast, a 24 hour convenience store, a 24 hour fitness center, an indoor pool and a well equipped business center. The 60 room hotel is the closest building to to I-40 on the west edge of town, right next to the access ramp at exit 16, old Route 66; nearby are a few restaurants and a travel center, though the surroundings are largely undeveloped, and most facilities are a few miles east, closer to downtown. Most guest rooms have a microwave and refrigerator.

The Best Western adjoins a residential area one block from Route 66 a short distance east of downtown Gallup, near I-40 exit 22. Neighborhood facilities are somewhat limited but there are several restaurants and small stores within walking distance. The main shopping center in town is 2.5 miles west. The hotel provides free full breakfast, and complimentary wi-fi, plus the standard leisure amenities of a pool (indoor), hot tub and fitness center. Accommodations include a selection of kitchenette suites, while all guest rooms contain a microwave and refrigerator. Business travelers have use of a 12 person boardroom.

The Fairfield Inn is the first Marriott hotel in Gallup, open spring 2015, located along old Route 66 towards the east edge of the city, 3 miles from downtown, close to I-40 exit 26. There are two restaurants near the interstate exit, but most other dining places are several miles away, in the central area. W-fi is complimentary, as it the good quality breakfast, which includes several hot items. Business travelers have use of a business center and a 20 person boardroom, while for leisure the hotel has the usual fitness center, hot tub and (indoor) pool.

The Howard Johnson hotel occupies an older, two storey, relatively large building, brightly decorated in blue and orange, situated towards the west side of Gallup in a lightly developed area along Route 66, within walking distance of several restaurants. There is also a restaurant (and bar) on the premises, the Mexican/American-style Cactus Rose, together with an indoor pool and meeting space for up to 600 people. Free breakfast is provided each morning.

The spacious, nicely decorated rooms at Microtel Inn Gallup are equipped with a microwave, refrigerator & pillow top mattresses, and have views over a lightly developed neighborhood at the far west edge of town, beside I-40 exit 16. Nearby facilities include a few restaurants and gas stations, but most area services are around 4 miles east, in the city center. The interior corridor inn provides complimentary amenities of continental breakfast, 24 hour coffee and wi-fi, together with a 24 hour business center.

Days Inn Gallup lies at the east edge of Gallup between Highway 66 and Aztec Road, a few blocks west of I-40 exit 26; a clean-looking, interior corridor, L-shaped building of 77 rooms, surrounded by plenty of tree-lined parking space. Gallup town center is 4 miles to the east, and although this area is relatively undeveloped there are two restaurants adjacent to the hotel. The inn has an indoor pool/spa/sauna, a business center and guest laundry. Complimentary continental breakfast is served.

Highlight of Days Inn Gallup East is the sheltered garden at one side of the parking lot, shielded from the main road and complete with outdoor pool. Otherwise, the motel resembles many others in Gallup, offering just free wi-fi and free continental breakfast. Rooms are divided between two exterior corridor units, each set back slightly from the main road and the railway lines just beyond. There are several restaurants close by, in both directions along old Route 66.

Travelodge Gallup has a westerly location in the city along old Route 66, one mile from the most central of several I-40 exits, the intersection with US 491 from Shiprock. All guest rooms are on the ground floor, entered directly from the parking lot, which is lined on three sides by the accommodation blocks. A few rooms are suites, featuring a kitchen and separate living area. Wi-fi and continental breakfast are complimentary.

1.3 miles from Gallup Municipal Airport along Route 66, the Super 8 is one of many affordable motels in town, and its rooms enjoy long distance views over the lightly settled surroundings. All accommodations are equipped with a microwave, refrigerator and pillow top mattresses. The motel has plenty of parking space on all sides, and a basic business center; complimentary amenities are continental breakfast and wi-fi. A small number of restaurants are within walking distance.
