Renaissance Walnut Creek is an upscale, sports-oriented resort offering luxurious accommodations, fine dining and a wide range of leisure amenities, centered on the ClubSport fitness center, an 85,000 square foot facility that includes studios, a gymnasium, handball, racquetball & squash courts, a children's activity club and an aquatic center. Also on-site is the R-Spa, featuring a wide range of treatments. C Blue restaurant/lounge provides all day dining and afternoon/evening drinks, and a snack bar offers alternative refreshments. The hotel is easily reached from I-880, located one block east along Treat Boulevard, a short walk from the Pleasant Hill BART station.

Both I-5 just to the west and the BART station two blocks north put Marriott Walnut Creek within easy reach of other East Bay attractions; together with excellent customer service and comprehensive facilities, the hotel has become a favorite of both business and leisure travelers. The luxurious accommodations comprise 338 rooms & suites on 6 floors, with one concierge level; all rooms feature a sitting area, work desk, plasma TV and wireless internet access. The on-site restaurant is Main Street Grill, open for breakfast, lunch & dinner; the adjacent lounge bar also has an all-day menu, and offers live piano music most evenings. Open late 2019, the six story Residence Inn Walnut Creek contains 160 suites, in studio, two bedroom and one bedroom configurations, together with the usual facilities for business, functions and recreation. Complimentary amenities include hot breakfast, weekday evening receptions, restaurant delivery service and grocery shopping service. The hotel has a central location in town along Main Street, a quarter of a mile from I-680, within walking distance of many restaurants and retail outlets. The Walnut Creek BART station is just 500 feet south.

As with most Embassy Suites hotels, the Walnut Creek property features a spectacular, floor-to-ceiling atrium lobby, with fountains, cascades and koi fish ponds, plus plenty of spaces for working, relaxing, eating and drinking. The all-suite property is part of a busy urban neighborhood along Treat Boulevard, with I-680 running past to the west and the BART train lines to the east; the Pleasant Hill/Contra Costa Centre station is just across the street. Hot breakfast and evening receptions are complimentary, while other meals can be purchased at the Embassy Grill restaurant/bar, on the premises, or from half a dozen nearby dining outlets. New for spring 2025, Hilton Garden Inn Walnut Creek is quite centrally located, at the Main Street exit of I-680, in a business/commercial neighborhood within walking distance of a good selection of restaurants. Buchanan Field Airport (CCR) is 5 miles south. A spa, indoor pool and 24 hour fitness center are the recreation amenities. Breakfast and dinner are provided by the onsite restaurant, which includes an outdoor patio.

A short distance north of the center of Walnut Creek, the recently renovated Holiday Inn Express provides a wide range of amenities to those traveling on I-680, or visiting the nearby cities of Pleasant Hill, Concord, Lafayette and Danville. Beside the interstate, the hotel is well connected to other places around San Francisco Bay by the BART service, the nearest stop of which is just 0.6 miles north. The inn contains 161 rooms on 2 floors, arranged around three sides of a large area of mature, landscaped gardens, with an outdoor pool, hot tub and plenty of places for relaxing in the California sun. Also on site are a breakfast bar, an atrium lobby, a fitness center and two meeting rooms. The hotel is located along Main Street, along a busy road lined by many shops and restaurants.

Friendly staff and low room rates are the main attributes of Super 8 Walnut Creek, a typical low rise, exterior-corridor property located near the north side of town right next to I-680 (the Main Street exit). Guests have use of a tree-lined outdoor pool to one side, while interior facilities are limited to wi-fi, cable TV and free continental breakfast. There are several restaurants just down the road, and the nearest shopping center (Broadway Plaza) is 1.5 miles south.
