The 38 rooms & suites are generally bright and spacious, all with microwave & refrigerator, and most having views of the beach and the rocky cliffs just beyond. The only major amenity is free continental breakfast though there are 4 restaurants nearby and plenty of opportunities for hiking & exploring.

Situated right beside the ocean in Rockaway Beach, the Best Western Lighthouse Hotel is a large, resort-style property with its own fine dining restaurant & bar (Portofino), an outdoor pool/hot tub next to small garden, and a range of room/suite types, many overlooking the sands of Rockaway Bay. The surrounding land is mostly undeveloped hills and bluffs though the many attractions of downtown San Francisco are just 15 miles north along Highway 1. Room rates are generally cheaper than might be expected for seaside hotels with such facilities.
