Hood River Hotels

New for summer 2016, the Hampton Inn hotel has an excellent location in the city of Hood River backing on to Nichols Basin on south bank of the Columbia River, right next to the Hood River, and linked by footbridge to the marina and parkland on the far side. I-84 runs past just south; access is from exit 63, 2nd Street, while all the shops, bars and restaurants in the downtown area are within walking distance. Accommodations comprise regular rooms, all with microwave/refrigerator, and suites, which additionally feature extra living space, a sofa bed and river views. The hotel provides free wi-fi and free daily hot breakfast; it also has a fitness center, pool and meeting space.

The Holiday Inn Express has a westerly location in Hood River about half way between I-84 exit 82 and the town center, along Cascade Avenue (US 20), a street lined with many restaurants and shops including Wal-Mart nearly opposite and a supermarket one block east. The interior corridor hotel features 62 extra large, nicely decorated rooms, with microwave/refrigerator and plenty of living space; some have a hot tub bath. Free hot breakfast is provided, and leisure facilities are the usual pool, spa & fitness center.

Most rooms at Best Western Plus Hood River Inn have views either across the Columbia River to Washington, or south towards the hills of Mt Hood National Forest. The AAA Three Diamond-rated inn has an ideal location right by the water's edge, close to the Hood River Bridge, and is easily reached from I-84 which runs past to the south. Nearby are several restaurants and a marina, with the town center one mile west. All accommodations at the Best Western contain a microwave, refrigerator and tea/coffee maker; some are available with one or more of a sofabed, patio, full kitchen, fireplace and balcony. Full service amenities include free full breakfast, an onsite restaurant/bar, outdoor pool/spa, exercise room and meeting space, plus use of a private beach by the river.
