Top State Parks: 20, Red Rock Canyon, California

Several square miles of hills, ravines and badlands are contained within Red Rock Canyon State Park, along the west edge of the Mojave Desert in southern California, close to the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Most of the land is part of the El Paso Mountains, a relatively low range, split by one major ravine whose sides are lined with many colorful, eroded formations.
