Newberry National Volcanic Monument > Paulina Lake/Newberry Caldera > QTVR Panorama A panorama near the end of the Obsidian Flow Trail in the Paulina Lake area of Newberry National Volcanic Monument. The lake is visible to the north, and 7,984 foot Paulina Peak to the west, but most of the view is of the black lava and grey pumice of the Big Obsidian Flow, produced as recently as 1,300 years ago, making this the most recent lava field in Oregon. To navigate in a panorama, use the mouse to click and drag the picture left or right, or the keyboard arrow keys. Press the Shift key to zoom in or the Control key to zoom out. |
