At the end of a narrow, southwards-pointing promontory, Cape Royal has the widest panorama of the North Rim viewpoints, overlooking 270 degrees of the great gorge, from Marble Canyon in the north to Garden Creek below Grand Canyon Village in the west. The short trail to the viewpoint passes a selection of native plants, identified by notices, and ends at a railing-protected area above tall cliffs. A spur path leads to another, eastwards-projecting viewpoint on top of Angels Window, an angular arch.

Length 0.3 miles (0.5 km), elevation change 40 feet (12 meters)
