The Holiday Inn Express is the best hotel in Wheat Ridge, and receives some of the top reviews for all Denver area hotels, on account of its efficient, welcoming staff, the clean & modern rooms, the above average free breakfast (which includes hot items like sausage & eggs), and the good location - right next to I-70 (exit 267; Kipling St), just a few miles from the edge of the Rocky Mountains. All this and relatively low rates. The 104 rooms each have a refrigerator, while the various types of suite have extra amenities such as a microwave, wet bar and extra sofa bed. An indoor hot tub, outdoor pool, exercise room, guest laundry, business center and two meeting rooms (888 sq ft) are the other main amenities.

Directly opposite the Holiday Inn Express stands the 65 room Comfort Inn Wheat Ridge, a quiet, peaceful place to stay since it is set back a little (500 feet) from nearby I-70, and south-facing rooms over look a city park (Fruitdale), which has paths, picnic tables and a children's' playground. All the rooms contain a refrigerator/microwave, and are clean & well maintained. Free continental breakfast is served; for lunch & dinner there are half a dozen restaurants a short walk eastwards around the interstate exit (Kipling Street). For relaxation the Comfort Inn offers the usual pool, hot tub and fitness center.

Another of the group of hotels around the Kipling St exit of I-70, Motel 6 Wheat Ridge accommodates guests in small, basic but low priced rooms - arranged in two 2-storey blocks surrounded by the parking lot. There are several restaurants and other businesses across the street, and one block north, Jack B Tomlinson Park has a pond, picnic area and shady footpaths. Some rooms at the Motel 6 contain a mini refrigerator; other amenities are wi-fi, coin-operated laundry, cable TV, and free coffee in the lobby.
