Most of the 73 rooms at the Best Western Frontier Motel enjoy mountain views both east and west - the hotel lies on the southerly approach to Lone Pine at 1008 S Main St (US 395), away from other buildings though within walking distance of the small selection of shops and restaurants in town. Lone Pine Airport is 0.7 miles south, and the Mount Whitney Golf Club is just beyond. Rooms at the Best Western are all on the ground floor, in 3 blocks arranged around the parking area, heated outdoor pool and small garden.

Comfort Inn Lone Pine is 1.7 miles south of the town center, surrounded by empty lands alongside US 395 and close to Mount Whitney Golf Club; both club and hotel have views west to the highest mountain in California, as well towards the Inyo Mountains to the east, which mark the western edge of Death Valley National Park. The inn has 58 rooms (all with microwave & refrigerator) on 2 floors, an outdoor pool and a dining area where free continental breakfast is served. The highway to the north passes a small selection of restaurants.
