Another new hotel in Thatcher, AZ, the Comfort Inn & Suites opened late 2008 and caters for guests in 88 beautiful, spacious, modern rooms all featuring a refrigerator, microwave, plasma TV, pillow top mattresses, and peaceful views over the surrounding Gila Valley farmland towards distant mountains. Some rooms have a wet bar and/or sofa bed. Exercise facilities are the expected pool (outdoor), hot tub, sun deck and fitness center. Free hot breakfast is prepared each morning, which is convenient since the nearest restaurants are one mile east along the main road (US 70), in the neighboring (and larger) town of Safford.

Open October 2008, the new SpringHill Suites by Marriott looks set to become the top hotel in the Safford-Thatcher area, along US 70 through the Gila River Valley. The hotel features modern, all-suite, smoke-free accommodation at affordable prices - the 71 rooms have separate living/sleeping areas, a large work desk, extra sofa bed, microwave and refrigerator. A hot breakfast buffet is served each morning, and for other meals there are a few restaurants in the center of Thatcher but rather more in Safford, just over a mile east. The SpringHill Suites also offers an outdoor pool, hot tub, fitness center, and one meeting room. Thatcher is one possible stopping point when exploring the Coronado Trail, a scenic byway across eastern Arizona.
