Buckeye is the westernmost of the southern Phoenix suburbs; a dispersed, desert community centered on the intersection of I-10 with Hwy 85 from Gila Bend. The area north of the interstate is undeveloped, dominated by the White Tank Mountains which rise to 4,018 feet, while to the south the land is mostly agricultural, irrigated using water from the seasonal Agua Fria River. The town center, a mix of estates, public buildings and a limited number of shops, has a quiet location 4 miles from I-10, but the main commercial area is alongside the interstate at exit 117 (Watson Road), where stores include Lowe's and Walmart. The next nearest places along I-10 with hotels are Quartzsite (97 miles west) and Goodyear (12 miles east).
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Phoenix West - Buckeye
445 S Watson Road, Buckeye, AZ 85326
The small town of Buckeye in south central Arizona has only a limited selection of lodging; the main place is the Holiday Inn Express, part of a group of businesses including restaurants, gas stations, a bank and a UPS store - at the Watson Road exit of I-10 (south side), 30 miles west of central Phoenix. Beyond the shopping area, most of the surroundings are residential, but the untouched desert landscapes of Skyline Regional Park are just a short drive away to the north. The four story hotel has 88 rooms, 25 suites and 1,600 sq ft of meeting space. Wi-fi and hot breakfast buffet are complimentary. The fitness center and convenience store are both open 24 hours a day. The hotel opened April 2016.
Days Inn Buckeye is located next to the Miller Road exit of Interstate 10, in a countryside setting next to a travel stop with a few fast food restaurants, but looking out over undeveloped desert in most directions. The two story inn is bright, clean and welcoming, and offers free continental breakfast, an outdoor pool/hot tub, guest laundry and a microwave/refrigerator in each room. Pets are welcome. Buckeye town center is 4 miles south, and downtown Phoenix is 30 miles east.
