East San Antonio Hotels

An outdoor pool, fitness center, meeting space and a dining area for the free breakfast buffet are the principal amenities of the pet friendly Holiday Inn Express San Antonio East, which opened fall 2022, located along the southern I-10 frontage road near exit 583 (Foster Road). Downtown San Antonio is 8 miles west. The surroundings are mostly undeveloped land, partly wooded, but with several restaurants within walking distance, either side of the freeway exit. The 70 room hotel also provides the usual business and recreation amenities.

The Holiday Inn Express is situated in a semi-rural area right at the east edge of San Antonio, alongside I-410 near the Rigsby Avenue intersection - on the western frontage road, within walking distance of a group of restaurants and gas stations. The closest supermarket (Walmart) is half a mile away on the opposite side of the freeway. One other nearby attraction (0.9 miles) is Lakeside Park, featuring a large pond, walking trails, picnic area and childrens' playground. The hotel has 81 rooms, all containing a microwave, refrigerator and sofa bed. Complimentary hot breakfast buffet is provided each morning. The hotel's meeting room accommodates events of up to 166 people.

The handsome new Best Western San Antonio East Inn is the first hotel for travelers arriving from the east along I-10 from Houston; it has a peaceful location along the northern frontage road by exit 585, surrounded by farmland though just across the street from one restaurant. Others can be found a couple of miles west closer to the city. Free full breakfast is provided by the hotel, however, as are a good range of amenities including an outdoor pool, hot tub, fitness center, guest laundry, business center and a meeting room. Besides the regular accommodations (all featuring a microwave, large screen TV & refrigerator), several types of suite are available, with a kitchenette or hot tub bath.

Comfort Inn San Antonio has a slightly elevated position on the north side of Interstate 10 near the Foster Road exit (583), allowing guest rooms to enjoy long distance views, across the partly undeveloped surroundings - the hotel backs on to a sizeable area of woodland, along Ackerman Creek. A short walk east reaches a travel center with several restaurants; in the other direction, downtown San Antonio is 11 miles away. The interior corridor hotel provides the expected amenities of free hot breakfast, free wi-fi, fitness & business centers and an indoor pool.

Quality Inn San Antonio sits beside I-10 (Houston Street intersection), close to Willow Springs Golf Course and the AT&T Center, and 4 miles due east of The Alamo in the city center. There are no restaurants at this interstate exit, but many along WW White Road, one mile east. The exterior corridor hotel has a refined, elegant exterior, clad in pale stone, surrounded by a decent-sized parking area. An outdoor pool, free wi-fi and complimentary hot breakfast are the main amenities. Pets are welcome.

Although Interstate 35 runs past the front of Quality Inn San Antonio, the hotel has a peaceful, secluded setting partly enclosed by woodland, extending west around Salado Creek. The twin accommodation blocks are about 400 feet from the freeway, with interior corridors, and they provide a quiet night's sleep, especially those at the rear. The spacious grounds include ample parking space, a tree-lined outdoor pool, hot tub and picnic area, while interior facilities are a convenience store, meeting space, ATM and business center. Hot breakfast and wi-fi are provided free of charge. Downtown San Antonio is 4 miles west.

Guest rooms at the Days Inn have views of a quiet, mixed residential rural neighborhood alongside Interstate 10 on the east side of San Antonio, a short walk from the woodland and footpaths of Martin Luther King Park. The hotel is a typically clean, comfortable and well managed property that offers free breakfast, a fitness center, guest laundry, an outdoor pool & hot tub, and a business center & meeting room. All 79 guest rooms have a microwave and refrigerator, while the accommodations include a selection of family suites, and executive suites equipped with a full kitchen. The AT&T Center is just 1.5 miles west, along Houston Street.

Days Inn San Antonio has a rather isolated location on the north I-35 frontage road, bordered on both sides by large industrial premises, not near any shops and restaurants. Splashtown water park is on the far side of the freeway, 1.4 miles by road. Guest rooms (all featuring microwaves and refrigerators) are contained within two blocks, each of two exterior corridor floors, with the parking lot at the rear and a tree-lined garden at the front, site of the outdoor pool and patio. The standard free continental breakfast is provided. The hotel has a business center and a meeting room.

The Days Inn has an easterly location in San Antonio along Rigsby Avenue, close to the I-410 intersection, in a largely residential neighborhood but close to various businesses including a few restaurants; one (Sonic drive-in) is adjacent. The place is fairly small, with 50 guest rooms, on two interior corridor floors, and all equipped with a microwave, refrigerator and free wi-fi. The accommodation block is angled away from the road, behind the office building and outdoor pool, so rooms are nice and quiet. Also available are meeting space and coin-operated laundry facility.

Travelodge San Antonio Northeast is part of a small group of hotels facing I-35 just across from Splashtown San Antonio, a popular water park (1.7 miles away by road). Fort Sam Houston is a short distance north, and the AT&T Center 2.5 miles south. The hotel has an outdoor pool at the rear, well away from the freeway, backing on to wooded terrain that extends west towards parkland surrounding Salado Creek. Inside, facilities include a business center and a dining room where the free breakfast is provided.

All guest rooms at the affordable, pet friendly Econo Lodge near AT&T Center feature a sofa bed, microwave, refrigerator and free wi-fi, and they have views of a lightly developed, mixed business/residential neighborhood at the Walters exit of I-35, adjoining Fort Sam Houston. The many attractions of central San Antonio are between 2.4 and 4 miles away, while Freeman Coliseum is 2 miles south. The motel provides the usual two complimentary amenities of wi-fi and breakfast (continental), plus an outdoor pool.

The Super 8 is a modern, three floor, interior corridor property, whose affordable, brightly-decorated accommodations are equipped with refrigerator & microwave. The hotel is part of a row of hotels on the north side of I-35 between exits 160 and 161, a 1.6 mile drive from Splashtown San Antonio. West-facing rooms have views of the outdoor pool, barbecue area and patch of trees that shield the inn from the adjacent business. Free continental breakfast is available but there are no nearby restaurants; the best choice is 2 miles away along WW White Road.

The pet friendly Super 8 is part of a line of restaurants and other motels along WW White Road, south of US 90 and west of I-410. Central San Antonio is 5 miles west. Most guest rooms are contained within an exterior corridor block at the rear, set back from the road, and bordering a patch of undeveloped land. The outdoor pool is also quiet and secluded. A microwave and refrigerator are installed in all accommodations; there are also several suites available, with extra living space and a sofa bed. The familiar two complimentary amenities of wi-fi and continental breakfast are provided.
