Lost Dutchman State Park is a popular place, offering a good introduction to the flora, fauna and scenery of the Sonoran Desert and the Superstition Mountains. The park occupies a small section of the western foothills, just beyond Apache Junction, and is accessed by the Apache Trail. People come here for camping (including full-hookup RV sites), picnicking and hiking - several short, easy trails link the various facilities, connecting with longer routes into the adjacent Tonto National Forest, including one path that climbs high into the mountains.
