South Lake Tahoe Hotels

One block from the California/Nevada border in the middle of South Lake Tahoe, Marriott's Timber Lodge has an ideal location, a short walk from the Stateline casinos, the shops of Heavenly Village, a sandy beach by the lake, and the Heavenly Gondola ski lift. The lodge is an upmarket, all suite property of 340 spacious rooms including separate one, two or three bedroom villas catering for up to ten guests. Services include a restaurant/bar, gift shop, fitness center, heated outdoor pool and hot tub. Although primarily aimed at timeshare vacations, the lodge is still available for regular stays.

Together with the Timber Lodge, the Residence Club forms part of a large Marriott complex next to Heavenly Village in South Lake Tahoe, providing several kinds of suite to extended stay or timeshare guests, plus regular accommodation for short stay visitors. Rooms include a full kitchen, whirlpool bath, large TV with DVD player, and an extra sofa bed; most have a fireplace and balcony. There is a restaurant on site, one next door in the Timber Lodge, and many more a short walk away.

The residential/timeshare accommodations at Marriott Grand Residence Club Tahoe are available in a variety of layouts: penthouses with one, two or three bedrooms, two-level loft suites with one, two or three bedrooms, one bedroom studio suites and even a few regular guest rooms. Most feature multiple bathrooms, a hot tub and one or more sofa beds & fireplaces, and all include a full kitchen, a living area with entertainment center, and a large dining area. The hotel sits along Lake Tahoe Boulevard, right next to the Heavenly Village gondola which takes guests to the ski resort in winter, and provides sightseeing trips in the summer.

The many recreation facilities and activities at Hilton Vacation Club Lake Tahoe include indoor & outdoor pools, a fitness center, a sauna, arts & crafts, billiards, shuffleboard and foosball. The resort occupies a large site on the north side of US 50 just 300 feet from the lake, separated from its sandy beaches only by a small lagoon. The casino district is one mile northeast. The onsite restaurant, Bear Moon Bar and Grill, is open for lunch, dinner & evening drinks; there are plenty more eateries within walking distance along the main road.

The Hampton Inn along Lake Tahoe Boulevard (US 50), is situated on the east side of South Lake Tahoe, and also close to Stateline and the Nevada border; in a tree-lined neighborhood with views of the surrounding mountains. The beachfront is a quarter of mile to the north and the casinos are one mile away along US 50. The hotel opened summer 2022 and it offers a full range of facilities including an indoor pool, a heated patio with firepit and hot tub, a lobby bar, business & fitness centers, and ski/bike storage. Hot breakfast is complimentary.

The popular Holiday Inn Express hotel in South Lake Tahoe lies at the junction of Lake Tahoe Boulevard (US 50) with the Pioneer Trail, in a wooded neighborhood half a mile from the lakeshore, the border with Nevada, and the casinos of Stateline. Also nearby are two restaurants, a selection of shops and a movie theater. Amenities at the 89 room hotel include an outdoor pool, sauna, whirlpool, newsstand and free hot breakfast. The building is set back a little from the highway, surrounded by trees, and so provides nice, quiet accommodation.

Hotel Becket, a member of Best Western's Signature Collection, is one of many lodging outlets along Lake Tahoe Boulevard; towards the east edge of town, a quarter of a mile from the Nevada stateline, close to many shops & restaurants. Guest rooms are in two blocks, either side of the parking lot, which is entered from the street via a rather low-roofed passageway. The hotel has a restaurant/bar onsite, Becket Tavern, and one other main amenity, a fitness center.

The Econo Lodge has a pleasant location along Lake Tahoe Boulevard, enclosed by tall pine trees in a quiet, residential area a quarter of a mile from the lakeshore. The limited amenities comprise free breakfast, coin-operated laundry and a microwave/refrigerator in all accommodations. A good choice of restaurants can be found half a mile northeast, around Tahoe Crescent Shopping Center. Guest rooms are divided between several exterior corridor blocks, some in a detached section to the south.

At the southeast corner of the junction of Pine Avenue and Stateline Boulevard, the Rodeway Inn Casino Center is the closest hotel in South Lake Tahoe to the Nevada border - the casinos in Stateline are just a 2 minute walk away. Also within walking distance are Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course, Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park, Lakeside Beach, and a good selection of restaurants. The hotel is just off US 50 in a tree-lined, residential district; it has an outdoor pool/spa at the front of the property, and serves free continental breakfast.
