Inn at the Mission opens spring 2020, just across the street from Mission San Juan Capistrano, perhaps the most beautiful of the 21 Spanish missions that were built in California during the latter half of the 18th century. The luxurious, full service property is part of Marriott's Autograph Collection, a group of upscale, individually designed hotels, and it has an easy-to-reach location beside Interstate 5 at the Ortega Highway exit. The hacienda-style inn offers 124 regular guest rooms and seven suites, together with over 40,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function space, while the many other amenities include a restaurant/bar, resort-sized outdoor pool, spa, and a spacious patio, with views of the ruined mission church.

Residence Inn San Juan Capistrano has a prominent location along Camino Capistrano on the south side of town, facing interstate 5 and just a few blocks from Capistrano Beach, Dana Point Marina and the Pacific Ocean. The hotel caters primarily for long stay guests, offering 130 well equipped suites in studio, one bed or two bed layouts, all featuring a full kitchen. Complimentary amenities include a grocery shopping service, internet access, daily hot breakfast and weekday evening receptions, while leisure facilities are the usual pool, fitness center and whirlpool. There are plenty of restaurants a short walk southwards along the main road, and a selection of small shops. The hotel opened spring 2012.

Less than half a mile from the beautiful courtyards and historic buildings of Mission San Juan Capistrano, the Best Western Capistrano Inn is a quiet, friendly and reasonably priced establishment, set back a little from the main road (Ortega Hwy), and occupying a pretty site lined by palm trees and other tropical plants. The 108 rooms are recently renovated, and all contain a microwave & refrigerator; also available are larger rooms with a kitchenette. The main facilities of the Best Western are an outdoor pool, hot tub, newsstand and guest laundry. Free continental breakfast is served, and the hotel operates a complimentary shuttle to places within a few miles, including Doheny State Beach near Dana Point. The closest restaurant is Denny's, right next door.
