This panorama is taken from the top of a small summit in the middle of the Beaver Dam Mountains, looking down to the track across the southern corner of the wilderness area, which starts from exit 18 of I-15. In the distance, high ridges and peaks rise in all directions, while the foreground has a mixture of eroded sandstone strata and cactus-covered sandy mounds. The large whitish area beside the track is due to the spoil heaps from a gypsum mine.
