The North Platte River flows just 800 feet from the Holiday Inn Express hotel in Douglas, WY, putting guests within easy reach of the scenic trail along its wooded banks. The neighborhood is quite lightly developed, though the town center is just one mile east along the main road, US 87, which links with I-25 one mile west. The hotel is one of the more modern properties of this brand, offering 76 nice clean rooms & suites, all with refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, and upgraded bedding, together with the standard amenities of free hot breakfast, a business center, meeting space, pool, hot tub and fitness center.

The full service Clarion Inn has a quiet location surrounded by fields at the end of a side road on the north edge of town, just off US 87 and a short distance from I-25. Guests enter through an unusually elegant lobby, and can take advantage of a wide range of facilities including a lounge/bar, an all-day steakhouse restaurant, meeting/event facilities for up to 250 people, an extra large (and deep) indoor pool & hot tub, a games room, fitness center, gift shop and business center. The 117 rooms are in two blocks either side of a courtyard garden, and some have one or more of a refrigerator, microwave, sofa bed and mountain view.

New for 2009, the Sleep Inn has quickly earned a good reputation for the excellent staff, the large and comfortable rooms, and the above average free continental breakfast. The hotel has a relatively quiet location along US 87 towards the west side of town, half a mile from interstate 25 and within a short walk of several restaurants. The 63 rooms are equipped with a coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave and cable TV, part of a handsome three storey building that also contains an indoor pool, hot tub, fitness center, laundry, business center and meeting/banquet facilities.

Budget-priced Motel 6 Douglas is part of a small cluster of buildings outside town to the east, beside I-25 exit 135 (Richards St) - near a gas station and a restaurant though about a mile from any other facilities. The inn has two floors and exterior corridors, mini refrigerators & cable TV in each room, free coffee in the lobby, wi-fi and guest laundry. North facing rooms have nice views over open countryside. Pets are welcome.
