>Half way along Trail Ridge Road (US 34) through the center of Rocky Mountain National Park, Forest Canyon Overlook (11,710 feet) provides a grand panorama over many square miles of wilderness, centered on the deep canyon of the Big Thompson River. To the north, smooth-sided Sundance Mountain rises several hundred feet above the highway, but the more spectacular summits are to the south - most prominent are Stones Peak and Terra Tomah Mountain. In the west, the views extend for over 15 miles, towards the continental divide which marks the national park boundary.
