Plainview's Holiday Inn Express hotel opened in 2005, built on the west edge of town just northwest of exit 49 of I-27 (Olton Road; US 70) - next to the Wal-Mart and JC Penney stores. The three story hotel has 43 rooms and 19 suites, most having views over flat farmland though there are various restaurants and other shops in the vicinity. For leisure, the Holiday Inn Express offers the standard amenities of an indoor pool, whirlpool and (24 hour) fitness center. The on-site meetings facilities can cater for events of up to 35 people. Free hot breakfast buffet is prepared each morning.

Highlight of Super 8 Plainview is the outdoor pool, in the middle of a courtyard garden sheltered from the main road and from I-27 which runs right past on the east side. The inn adjoins exit 49 of the interstate, close to a few gas stations and fast food restaurants, and within half a mile of larger stores like Wal-Mart and United Supermarket. Other amenities are the usual free wi-fi, free continental breakfast, guest laundry, business center and fitness center.
