Amarillo Hotels

The luxurious, boutique Barfield Hotel occupies a historic, ten story brick building constructed in 1926 as an office and retail center; one of the very first high rise structures in Amarillo. Open spring 2020, the hotel contains 112 elegant guest rooms, plus meeting/event space, a fitness center and a full service Italian restaurant & speakeasy-style bar. The building is centrally located in downtown Amarillo on the corner of Polk Street and 6th Avenue, four blocks from the Civic Center.

The full service Holiday Inn has a semi-rural location on the east edge of Amarillo, along the northern I-40 frontage road, 5 miles from the international airport. There are several restaurants close by but most other facilities are several miles away, towards the city center. The on-site food/beverage outlet is the lobby level 66 Restaurant & Bar, open for breakfast and dinner, plus room service, while the hotel also offers fitness & business centers, a 1,000 square foot meeting room, an indoor pool and outdoor patio.

Holiday Inn Amarillo West is part of a developing commercial area of shops, restaurants and other hotels near Westgate Mall, next to I-40 right at the western edge of the city, and also close to Northwest Texas Healthcare. The 155 room, full service property has its own restaurant/bar, Flame, featuring Mexican cuisine and open all day for breakfast, lunch, dinner & room service. The large pool complex includes a sauna, whirlpool, waterslide and poolside bar; the other main leisure facility is a well equipped fitness center. The hotel provides all the expected facilities for business and meetings.

The Courtyard in Amarillo, TX, is almost the westernmost hotel in town, located along the I-40 frontage road at the edge of the countryside, opposite Westgate Mall. The road has several other hotels and a fair selection of restaurants, though most facilities are closer to the town center, around 4 miles east. The Embassy Suites is one of relatively few hotels in downtown Amarillo, prominently positioned at the junction of 6th Avenue and Buchanan Street, opposite the Civic Center and adjacent to the Center for Performing Arts. All accommodations are suites, featuring a wet bar, sofa bed and living area, with studio or one bedroom layouts. Daily hot breakfast and weekday evening receptions are complimentary. Room service, the fitness center and the business center are in operation 24 hours. A full service spa offers four treatment rooms and a nail salon. The 90 room/suite Hilton Garden Inn is the westernmost hotel in Amarillo, located beside I-40 exit 64 (Soncy Road), and most rooms enjoy long distance views across flat countryside. Places within a couple of miles include Westgate Mall, Northwest Texas Healthcare and Amarillo College. There are many restaurants within walking distance, and a movie theater. This modern, comfortable and well managed hotel provides all necessary services together with the excellent Hilton customer service; the main amenities are a fitness center, indoor saline pool, meeting space, a 24 hour business center and a restaurant/bar (Great American Grill) open for breakfast and evening drinks.

Four Points by Sheraton Amarillo is a large, full service but reasonably priced hotel occupying half of a relatively old building (shared with the Fairfield Inn) next to exit 71 (Ross Street) of interstate 40, on the north side of the highway; it contains 128 rooms on four floors and including a cafe/lounge, fitness center, hot tub, games room and indoor pool. Downtown Amarillo is 1 mile west, while the international airport is 7 miles away. Event facilities comprise four meeting rooms (catering for events of up to 250 people) and a business center.

Open fall 2024, the Hampton Inn, 3rd of this brand in Amarillo, is part of a large group of hotels and other businesses on the north side of Interstate 40, across from Westgate Mall, within a short drive of such locations as Don Harrington Discovery Center, Amarillo Botanical Gardens and Wonderland Amusement Park. There are many restaurants close by. Accommodations include a selection of kitchenette suites, while hotel features include a fitness center, event space and an indoor saltwater pool.

Guest rooms at Hampton Inn Amarillo enjoy long distance views east and west across the flat plains on the east side of the city - the hotel has a semi-rural location along the northern I-40 frontage road near exit 74, Whitaker Road. Downtown Amarillo is 6 miles west. There is one restaurant/bar adjacent, and a few more dining places on the far side of the interstate exit. The 127 room/suite hotel provides free hot breakfast, and a takeout version (Mon - Fri). The Home2 Suites, open late 2021, is part of a lightly-developed neighborhood on the eastern approach to Amarillo, I-40, near the Hwy 335 intersection, right next to the famous Big Texan Steak Ranch and its 72 oz steak challenge. There are several other restaurants in the vicinity. This is an extended stay property, with suites in studio and one-bedroom layouts; all include a full kitchen. Recreation amenities are a fitness center, outdoor pool, patio, grill and fire pits. Hot breakfast is complimentary.

New for summer 2020, The TownePlace Suites is a mid range, all-suite/long stay property of 89 rooms, part of a small group of hotels and restaurants on the south side of Interstate 40 near the Coulter Street exit, one mile south of the Medical Center and the Amarillo Botanical Gardens. Westgate Mall is within walking distance to the west. Features include a fitness center and pool, a business center and a 1,300 square foot meeting room. Free hot breakfast is provided.

The 102 room Springhill Suites is one of the large number of hotels on the west side of Amarillo, located at the Soncy Road exit of I-40, adjacent to many restaurants and a 14 screen cinema. Westgate Mall is close by, on the far side of the interstate, together with several large stores. All accommodations are studio suites, equipped with a sofa bed, refrigerator, microwave and silverware; cookable meals can be purchased from a 24 hour market. Hot buffet breakfast is complimentary. The hotel has a bbq area, fitness center, outdoor pool and business center.

The Hawthorn Extended Stay hotel along Ventura Drive accommodates visitors to Amarillo in 70 large, clean rooms, each containing microwave and refrigerator. The hotel has a southerly location in Amarillo, just east of I-27 (the Hollywood Road exit), in a quiet, rural setting. There are several fast food restaurants nearby, with a better choice starting a mile to the north, though a free full breakfast is available on site. The westernmost of several Holiday Inn Express hotels in Amarillo is part of the wide range of accommodation choices near Westgate Mall - beside I-80 right at the west edge of the city. Farmland surrounds the hotel in some directions but there are many shops & restaurants within half a mile, mostly on the opposite (south) side of the interstate. The property has 4 floors and 128 rooms, and offers all the expected amenities: free hot breakfast, free internet access, a pool & fitness center, meeting space & business center.

The well reviewed Holiday Inn Express hotel in Amarillo (the most central of several similar properties in town) is located just off I-40 along Wolfin Avenue, which is a block south of exit 68A (Georgia Street). Nearby sites of interest are the Westgate Mall and Amarillo's two major hospitals, both 4 miles west. All 90 rooms & suites are very clean and modern, and contain a refrigerator, minibar, coffee maker, cable TV & microwave. The lobby features an attractive sheet waterfall, while other amenities are the expected pool, hot tub, fitness center and free continental breakfast.

The easternmost Holiday Inn Express hotel in Amarillo (6.5 miles from downtown) has a rural setting alongside I-40 close to the international airport. The property is a typically clean, comfortable hotel with 69 oversized rooms & suites, furnished with stylish accessories like granite work surfaces and oversized TVs. Free hot breakfast is served and there are plenty of restaurants within a mile, either along the interstate or up Lakeside Drive leading to the airport. The latest Holiday Inn Express in Amarillo is a 70 room/suite property, situated in the countryside adjacent to I-27 (exit 116, Hollywood Road) right at the south edge of town, and so one of the closest hotels to the famous Palo Duro Canyon State Park, entrance to which is just 21 miles southeast. Like most hotels of this brand, the Express offers spacious, modern, well equipped rooms and all necessary amenities - free hot breakfast, pool (indoor), hot tub, fitness center, guest laundry and a meeting room.

Candlewood Suites Amarillo is built next to an IHG sister property (Staybridge Suites), in a busy commercial district 5 miles southwest of the city center, adjacent to Western Crossing Mall and close to many corporate buildings. Accommodation comprises 96 studio or one bed suites all featuring a full kitchen (dishwasher, refrigerator with ice maker, stove, microwave, sink), a large work desk and free wi-fi. Food for cooking can be purchased from the on-site, 24 hour Candlewood Cupboard convenience store; a grill in the outdoor gazebo provides an alternative to the in-room facilities. A 24 business center, fitness center and guest laundry are some of the other amenities.

Newly constructed in 2022, the pet friendly Best Western Plus is an eastern Amarillo hotel, along Ross Street on the north side of Interstate 40, 1.5 miles from the city center, part of a neighborhood of restaurants, shops and gas stations. Free hot breakfast is prepared each morning, and free snacks are also available. Leisure amenities are a fitness center, hot tub and indoor pool, while the hotel also has a cocktail lounge. Guest rooms, on four floors, are equipped with a microwave and a refrigerator.

The Best Western Plus is a summer 2019 addition to the hotel choices in west Amarillo, situated on the north side of Amarillo Boulevard just off Coulter Street and close to Interstate 40. The various clinics and other facilities of the Medical District are within walking distance to the north, while many restaurants are also nearby. The hotel provides free hot breakfast and has the usual facilities for recreation, business and meetings.

The Best Western Santa Fe lies along the main eastern approach to Amarillo, interstate 40 - a short distance west along the southern frontage road, starting at exit 73 (Eastern Street). This semi rural location is 3 miles from Amarillo International Airport and 2 miles from the downtown area. The 56 room hotel has an outdoor pool at the front and overlooks undeveloped land to the back and sides; its main amenities are free continental breakfast, an outdoor pool, basic business services, and free passes to a local fitness center.

The Fairfield Inn has an easterly location in Amarillo, one of relatively few places serving the international airport; the hotel is built beside I-40 at the Airport Boulevard exit, 2 miles from the terminal buildings and 6 miles from the city center. The surroundings are largely rural, with facilities nearby limited to several restaurants and a travel center, but the hotel offers all the amenities necessary for a pleasant stay, including free breakfast, a fitness center & pool, business center & free wi-fi, and luxurious bedding in all the 78 rooms & suites.

Providing basic but comfortable lodging to travelers along interstate 40, Fairfield Inn Amarillo is a small (76 room), 3 floor building on the west side of town along the northern I-40 frontage road - part of a line of restaurants and other hotels. Nearby sites of interest include Westgate Mall (1 mile), Northwest Texas Hospital (1.5 miles) and Amarillo Country Club (2.5 miles). The Fairfield Inn serves free continental breakfast, and for relaxation offers an indoor pool & whirlpool.

Four story, 83 room Spark by Hilton Amarillo presents an elegant frontage, colored a variety of pastel shades; the building sits beside the Western Crossing Mall, near I-40 exit 67, also close to a good selection of restaurants. The hotel provides free breakfast, and it has all the standard amenities including an indoor pool, whirlpool, sauna, exercise room, business center, laundry and meeting space.

The Spark by Hilton is a substantial property, four storys, with a grand archway entrance, and spacious grounds; the parking lot wraps around all sides, while beyond is a line of trees and an artificial lake. The hotel has a quiet location, along the northern I-40 frontage road though set back, behind another building, a restaurant. Wi-fi and basic continental breakfast are complimentary. The hotel also offers a fitness center and an indoor pool.

The Spark by Hilton of west Amarillo is reached by the southern I-40 frontage road, though sits 500 feet from the freeway behind several other buildings including a restaurant, and borders a residential estate to the rear, so the place is nice and quiet. This location is half a mile from Westgate Shopping Center (with many more restaurants) and 7 miles from downtown Amarillo. Free breakfast is provided, together with the usual facilities for business, meetings and leisure. Besides the regular accommodations there are a selection of suites available, with added amenities of a wet bar (microwave, refrigerator, sink) and sofa bed.

The Microtel Inn of west Amarillo is a four floor property, open summer 2024; it features affordable lodging including a selection of studio suites with kitchenette facilities. Wi-fi and hot breakfast are complimentary. The hotel is part of a small group of businesses between I-40 and Bus 40, along Soncy Road, one mile from Westgate Mall. A convenience store, business center and coin-operated laundry are the other facilities.

The Microtel Inn has an east-central location in Amarillo near the Ross Street I-40 exit, surrounded by restaurants, small shops and other business premises. The two floor building is surrounded by lawns, with the main parking lot at the front, and large-vehicle spaces at the rear. Interior facilities are fairly standard for a low to mid range property, principally free continental breakfast, guest laundry, free wi-fi, a fitness center and indoor pool. Suites feature one of more of a whirlpool bath, sofa bed and wet bar.

The pet friendly Amarillo East hotel is one of Baymont Inn's older properties, consisting of two interior corridor blocks enclosed by ample parking space, situated on the southern I-40 frontage road about 2 miles from the city center. A few trees help shield the hotel from the adjacent freeway and the rooms are relatively quiet, especially those at the south end. A typical collection of fast food restaurants can be found close by along Ross Street, plus a Wal-Mart store and the main Amarillo post office. Wi-fi and continental breakfast are provided free of charge. The main amenity is an indoor pool.

Locations within one mile of Days Inn Amarillo include Westgate Mall, a 14 screen movie theater, Pavilion Northwest Healthcare, Texas Tech University Heath Sciences Center and Amarillo Botanical Gardens, while there are several restaurants much closer. The small, two floor, exterior corridor motel sits along Coulter Street just north of I-40 (exit 65), adjacent to the west end of the Rock Island Rail Trail, a four mile hike/bike route along an old railroad bed. Days Inn Amarillo East is a relatively large motel of five floors, 119 rooms (all containing refrigerator/microwave) and an outdoor pool at the rear, well away from I-40 which runs past at the front. Complimentary breakfast buffet is prepared each morning and for lunch/dinner there are over a dozen restaurants a short walk away, along Ross Street. The nearest supermarket is Wal-Mart, half a mile away on the far side of the interstate. Guests here to work can take advantage of a business center, a 65-person meeting room and A/V equipment. A free shuttle is provided to Amarillo International Airport, 6 miles east.

The Super 8 is among the easternmost motels in Amarillo, located on the north side of Interstate 40 at the Hwy 335 exit, close to Pilot Travel Center. Also nearby are an RV site, gas station and restaurant, but most of the surroundings are open fields. The pet friendly motel has three interior corridor floors and 60 guest rooms, but few amenities: only free continental breakfast (with eight items), free wi-fi and basic business services. The city center is 7 miles west.

The most central Super 8 property in Amarillo faces Interstate 40 (north side), 2 miles east of the intersection with I-27, next to the offices of American Quarter Horse Association. There is one restaurant just down the street and many more about one mile away, along Ross Street. All 67 guest rooms feature free wi-fi, a microwave and refrigerator, and are contained within an interior corridor building. Free continental breakfast is provided each morning. Pets are welcome. The motel has a 24 hour business center, though no pool.

Super 8 Amarillo West is accessed from the Paramount Boulevard exit of I-40, 3 miles southwest of the city center, and is located in a busy commercial area with shops, restaurants and other hotels. Western Crossing Mall is a short walk west. The motel charges low rates, on account of the limited facilities (just free wi-fi, free continental breakfast, an indoor pool and a business center), though rooms are large and the staff friendly. Accommodations are equipped with refrigerators and microwaves.
