Penta Geyser
Previous PhotoThe multiple vents of Penta GeyserNext Photo

The largest vent of Penta Geyser is still quite small, surrounded by a little sinter cone; four even smaller vents can be seen on the west side, though one is hard to spot. The geyser is located just a few feet from the boardwalk trail so is easily viewed when it erupts, which can be as frequent as twice daily, or significantly less often. The main vent sends water to a height of 20 feet, the others just a few feet, and activity lasts for between half an hour and two hours. Eruptions of the geyser are linked to activity in several nearby springs including Sawmill Geyser and Spasmodic Geyser.
