Norris Pool (an unofficial name) is an 8 foot diameter spring right next to the boardwalk trail just north of the most northerly of the three bridges over the Firehole River. At present the pool contains clear, blue-green water, swirling up from a vent on the west side, though at other times the water has been cloudy, grey and viscous. Eruptions occur occasionally, sending water a few feet into the air.
