East Chinaman Spring is a similarly sized pool a few feet east of Chinese Spring, on the south bank of the Firehole River, viewed from the boardwalk trail on the north side of Old Faithful. Both pools contain clear, permanently boiling water and are surrounded by a small sinter rim. Water runs along a greyish channel for a short distance then downhill into the river, immediately opposite the more colorful outflow of Cascade Geyser on the far side.
