Comet Geyser
Previous PhotoSemi-circular sinter ridge around the vent of Comet GeyserNext Photo

Although the grey-brown sinter cone surrounding Comet Geyser is large, suggesting the feature is quite ancient, eruptions are small, usually to a height of six feet, though activity is nearly continuous. Like others in the Daisy Group, Comet is relatively far from the path (80 feet) so cannot be viewed in detail. The vent is surrounded by a large area of barren sinter, run-off channels and shallow pools, some colored orange by algae.
