Turban and Vent geysers
Previous PhotoTurban (right) and Vent (left) geysersNext Photo

Turban and Vent are two geysers on the north side of the 30 foot wide pool of Grand Geyser; the former is enclosed by a low, raised ring of sinter thought to resemble a turban, while the latter is edged by thin sinter terraces, partly colored dark brown. Although not visible from the path, Turban Geyser contains a pool of clear blue water 15 feet across, and it erupts frequently - continuously when Grand is active - and from 15 to 30 minutes at most other times. Water heights are in the range five to ten feet. The opening of Vent Geyser is much smaller, less than 2 feet across; it usually erupts at intervals at the same time as Turban, but more spectacularly, to a height of 70 feet.
