Pendant Spring
Previous PhotoPendant Spring, filled with clear, slightly blue waterNext Photo

After the half mile round trip diversion to Solitary Geyser the Geyser Hill Loop continues west past Pendant Spring, a peaceful pool of clear, light blue water, which has a narrow vent at the center of a wide, shallow basin. The run-off channel and parts of the edge of the pool have a coating of bright orange cyanobacteria, but the water temperature is too hot for this to grow extensively. The spring has erupted a few times, though not since 1987.
