Independence Rock State Historic Site > QTVR Panorama The summit of Independence Rock looks out over many square miles of flat prairie, dotted with a few other isolated hills including Sentinel Rocks and the Granite Mountains. Highway 220 runs past just north; access to the rock is via a short path from a rest area. The Sweetwater River flows close by to the west, providing a permanent water supply in this otherwise arid land - important for the early settlers on the Emigrant Trail. To navigate in a panorama, use the mouse to click and drag the picture left or right, or the keyboard arrow keys. Press the Shift key to zoom in or the Control key to zoom out. |
