George West is a small town in far south Texas, at the crossroads of several major highways - US 281 from McAllen to San Antonio and US 59 from Laredo to Houston, while I-37 to Corpus Christi/Padre Island passes just to the east. The Best Western George West Executive Inn, one of two chain hotels in the area, is located one block north of the road junction, along Nueces Street; it has 40 rooms on 2 floors, overlooking the courtyard/parking area and landscaped outdoor pool. The on-site Nueces Street Grill serves breakfast (free), lunch & dinner, and there are two more restaurants across the road.
