Guadalupe Mountains National Park > Hiking > Hunter Peak > QTVR Panorama

Hunter Peak rises over 3,000 feet above the flat landscapes of west Texas; the view southwards from the summit includes about 40 miles of US 62/180 as it crosses the low desert plains. The mountain to the west is Guadalupe Peak, the highest point in Texas, reached by a 4 mile trail that switchbacks steeply up from the floor of Pine Spring Canyon. To the north are a succession of peaks, ridges and basins, including the sheltered pine forest of the Bowl.
