Guadalupe Mountains National Park > Hiking > Hunter Peak > QTVR Panorama Hunter Peak rises over 3,000 feet above the flat landscapes of west Texas; the view southwards from the summit includes about 40 miles of US 62/180 as it crosses the low desert plains. The mountain to the west is Guadalupe Peak, the highest point in Texas, reached by a 4 mile trail that switchbacks steeply up from the floor of Pine Spring Canyon. To the north are a succession of peaks, ridges and basins, including the sheltered pine forest of the Bowl. To navigate in a panorama, use the mouse to click and drag the picture left or right, or the keyboard arrow keys. Press the Shift key to zoom in or the Control key to zoom out. |
