Escobaria (tuberculosa or dasyacantha) - foxtail cactus, along the Marufo Vega Trail

Escobaria tuberculosa and escobaria dasyacantha are two similar species of pincushion cacti; both have a dense covering of short, whitish spines, and attractive orange-pink flowers. They inhabit rocky areas and gravel flats, up to 5,000 feet elevation.
