Grants Hotels

A new Holiday Inn Express hotel opened fall 2009 on the east side of Grants, near I-40 exit 85 - part of the main lodging area in town, and also within walking distance of various small shops, restaurants and gas stations. The hotel has generally larger and more modern rooms than its neighbors, and a good range of amenities - free hot breakfast, indoor pool, hot tub, fitness center, business center and a small meeting room. All rooms and suites feature a kitchenette, sofa bed and free internet access.

Most hotels in Grants are southeast of the town center along Santa Fe Avenue (former Route 66); the Comfort Inn is located at 1551 E, on the west side of the road just 1/4 mile north of exit 85 of I-40. The 51 room hotel has a rural setting with most rooms looking out over the desert, and to the edge of the El Malpais lava fields a mile to the west. Several restaurants & lounges are adjacent, and the shops and other facilities of downtown Gallup are 2 miles north. The hotel serves free deluxe continental breakfast; it also has an indoor pool, whirlpool, copy/fax services and a meeting room.

The clean, newly renovated Quality Inn & Suites Grants, at 1496 E Santa Fe Avenue, is a well managed property of 58 rooms (all containing a refrigerator/microwave) on 2 floors, with interior corridors and amenities of an indoor pool/whirlpool, health & fitness center, business center, free internet access and free hot breakfast. Guest rooms face either north or south, and have sweeping desert views, especially to the east. There are several restaurants nearby and plenty more a few miles west towards Grants town center. Pets are welcome, for a fee.

Although the building is old and the room rates are low, Motel 6 Grants has a good reputation for cleanliness, comfort and customer service. Rooms are on two floors with exterior corridors, and look out over a group of restaurants, shops (including Wal-Mart) and other hotels at the edge of the desert on the east side of town, one block north of I-40 exit 85 (Santa Fe Ave). The pet friendly motel has a secluded outdoor pool, laundry, wi-fi and a mini refrigerator in some of the rooms.
