Gallup Hotels

Regarded by many as the top hotel in town, Comfort Suites Gallup is an elegant, modern property with 66 extra large rooms, all featuring a microwave, refrigerator, sofa bed, free wi-fi and pillow top mattresses. The free breakfast includes a selection of hot items, and a take-out version is provided for guests leaving early. The pet friendly inn looks out over empty lands beyond the east edge of the city, but is easily accessed from I-40 (exit 26), which runs right past. A meeting room, indoor pool/whirlpool, fitness center, guest laundry and business center are the other amenities.

Simple but comfortable accommodation is provided by Sleep Inn Gallup, a small, 2 floor hotel on the east edge of town next to interstate 40 exit 26. There is a Denny's restaurant and a gas station next door though for the most part, the surroundings are undeveloped desert - other services are found about a mile west along old Route 66, towards Gallup town center. The amenities at the inn comprise free continental breakfast, an indoor heated pool, hot tub, guest laundry and a convenience store.

One of a group of hotels on the western approach road to Gallup (former route 66), the Comfort Inn provides cross-country travelers with comfortable accommodation right next to I-40 - the hotel is a short distance east of exit 16, in a mostly undeveloped area. The municipal airport is a mile to the east, and the center of Gallup is 3 miles further, though there is a selection of restaurants within walking distance. Comfort Inn Gallup has a heated indoor pool, microwave & refrigerator in each room, and serves free full breakfast.

Five key features of Hampton Inn Gallup-West are free hot breakfast, a 24 hour convenience store, a 24 hour fitness center, an indoor pool and a well equipped business center. The 60 room hotel is the closest building to to I-40 on the west edge of town, right next to the access ramp at exit 16, old Route 66; nearby are a few restaurants and a travel center, though the surroundings are largely undeveloped, and most facilities are a few miles east, closer to downtown. Most rooms have a microwave and refrigerator.

The larger and more centrally located of two Hampton Inn hotels in Gallup sits alongside I-40 at the Munoz Drive exit (US 491), near Rio West Mall and various large stores including Wal-Mart, Home Depot & Safeway. The town center is one mile way, on the far side of the interstate (and the railway). There are plenty of restaurants close by, though free hot breakfast is prepared each morning at the hotel. Leisure amenities are the usual pool, hot tub and fitness center, while a business center and two meeting rooms are available for those here to work.

The Quality Inn hotel in Gallup is right next to the main interstate exit for the town center (exit 20 of I-40), on the north side, one block west of US 491 along Maloney Ave. This is a commercial neighborhood, but close to the edge of the desert to the north, and one mile from downtown Gallup to the southeast. The hotel offers complimentary continental breakfast, is adjacent to two restaurants and close to several more. The Quality Inn is one of the few properties in Gallup not near the railway, so provides a quiet night's sleep.

Reasonably priced lodging with basic facilities is on offer at Econo Lodge Gallup, a 50 room, 2 storey, interior corridor property on the west edge of town right next to I-40 (exit 16; old Route 66). Some of the rooms have a microwave & refrigerator, while the hotel has an indoor pool and a sundeck. The familiar free continental breakfast is served, or for better choices there are many restaurants nearby, close to the interstate exit.

Gallup's Rodeway Inn is another of the budget motels along old Route 66 on the west side of town - part of a long line of small shops and other businesses, and facing the railroad tracks. Renovated in 2009, the inn offers basic free breakfast (coffee & pastries), copy/fax services, free internet access and a microwave/refrigerator in each of the 46 rooms, which are on 2 floors, and linked by exterior corridors. The closest I-40 exit is 20 (Munoz Dr), 1.3 miles away; this is also the location of the main shopping area in Gallup.
