Best Western Kokopelli Lodge At 702 S 1st St (highway US 87), the Best Western Kokopelli Lodge is just a few blocks south of Clayton town center and the junction with US 412/56. The hotel is situated in a mostly residential area and is surrounded by extensive gardens with picnic areas, a children's playground, fish pond and outdoor pool; other facilities include a complimentary shuttle to Clayton Municipal Airport, and an on-site restaurant (Dream Catcher). The 51 room building has an adobe style and is decorated with native American motifs in reference to Kokopelli, a mythical Anaszai flute player. The main natural attraction in this part of New Mexico is Capulin Volcano National Monument, 56 miles from the hotel along US 87.
