Wynn Encore: Even before Wynn Las Vegas opened in 2005, planning began for an equally large sister hotel, to be built just north of the original, on the corner of Desert Inn Road and Las Vegas Boulevard - covering more of the land formerly occupied by the Desert Inn Casino. Full opening is scheduled for early in 2009, though the exterior is already complete, and presents a similar appearance to Wynn next door, just slightly less wide, and oriented roughly east-west rather than north-south. Both properties are all-suite hotels; entry level rooms at Encore have an even larger floorspace than those of its neighbor, with Resort Suites starting at 700 square feet, while various other configurations are available up to the 5,800 square feet VIP Suites.
The main features of Wynn Encore are a casino, spa, nightclub, five signature restaurants, seven bars and 11 shopping outlets. There are extensive meeting facilities, a modern, European-style pool area and a large atrium lobby. Butterflies feature prominently in the interior design and decor.
