Bally's: Once known as the MGM Grand before that name was transferred to a new project a mile to the south, Bally's sits near the center of the Strip a little overshadowed by the larger and more extravagant casinos all around. It has a frontage of just 500 feet along Las Vegas Boulevard, with most of the property extending to the rear, facing Flamingo Road - including the pool area, situated right at the back of the hotel behind the adjacent Paris casino, and next to the Monorail stop used by the two resorts. Paris shares the same parent company (Harrah's Entertainment), and the two casinos are also linked by an interior walkway. There is no particular theme at Bally's - instead the hotel concentrates on providing a traditional Las Vegas experience, offering good quality lodging, gambling, dining and live entertainment.
Most of the rooms & suites at Bally's are quite far from the Strip, though those in the front tower do have good views up and down the street, and of Bellagio opposite. Apart from the table games and slot machines, the hotel offers 11 restaurants, three bars, a spa, tennis courts, a small selection of shops, and use of the Cascata & Rio Secco golf courses. There is quite a sizeable meeting/conference area (175,000 sq ft). The main shows at Bally's are Jubilee!, a topless revue that has been performed here daily for 25 years, and The Price is Right: Live, based on the popular TV program.
